The judge should jail her, just to get her away from her mother for a few months. Mom is going to help her into the ground, after partying away all her earnings.
Is that a coke spoon ring on her left hand?
I learned the neurological bottom line years ago.
Beyond a certain point, alcohol damages the judgment center of the brain, the prefrontal cortex.
After a complete cessation of drinking, it still takes a minimum of six months before the judgment center is again functional enough to consistently make good judgments. Brain repair is slow.
This was so clinically determined, even in the 1980s, that the US military considered prohibiting personnel determined as having an alcohol problem from *any* leadership position for six months.
At the time it was not feasible, because of widespread alcoholism in the military. But even then it was decided that programs should be adopted to over time discourage all personnel from consuming too much alcohol, or too frequently consuming alcohol (called “two beer alcoholics”, who always drink two beers at the end of the duty day, and experience personality changes if they don’t get their beer.)
However, keep this in mind with a person like Ms. Lohan. She cannot promise to stop drinking, in her current state. She cannot make any sound judgment, and should be separated from those that encourage or support her behavior.
I have met alcoholics who were incarcerated at the time, and had to be given alcohol intravenously, to prevent them from experiencing life threatening delirium tremens. After talking with them, it was frustrating that while they appeared to be mentally competent, they weren’t, and could listen intently to what you said, but it would not register.
Such mental incapacity isn’t cute or funny.
She looks 40.
She clearly learned her lessons well.
Why is she going to class? She apparently already knows how to drink!
Instead of alcohol education lessons, I think she needs a full time chauffeur.
This chick just needs to hurry up and die so there will be more oxygen for the rest of us.
If I had my way, I would sentence her to live with some Amish family for 6 months. Just maybe something would sink in and she would learn there is a purpose outside herself.
I hate to see anybody wasting their life.
Great parenting skills, there, Dina. Way to be a role model for your daughter.
By the way, who inherits?
This is a sad and slow suicide by this young woman and an example of the progression of the disease of alcoholism. Without some intervention or this young woman hitting bottom and finding real recovery, she’ll die soon. I only hope she doesn’t take some innocent person with her.
She looks more like 40.
