Doris Eaton Travis, the last surviving dancer from the Ziegfeld Follies troupe, has died in the US aged 106.
Travis first performed in the legendary Broadway show famed for its elaborate costumes and dance routines in 1918 aged 14.
At the age of 101 the dancer performed in a charity gala at the New York theatre where she made her debut.
Broadway is due to dim its lights on Wednesday evening as a mark of respect for the veteran performer.
Travis went on to appear in a number of silent Hollywood films in the 1920s and 30s and starred on stage opposite Al Jolson.
She continued to dance and sing in a Los Angeles revue, giving the first performance of Singin' In The Rain.

That just proves that dancing is good for the heart. R.I.P. dear lady.
Amazing!
She performed as recently as 2005, at the youthful age of 101.
RIP Ma’am — what a life you lived!

Wow, what a looker!
A few years ago, I wrote her a fan letter and received a beautiful autographed photo which is proudly displayed in my living room.
I’m very saddened by this, but this classy lady led a full and wonderful life.
Notice that she was 14 when she started in the follies.
Wonder if anyone back then was griping about her like they do nowadays about Miley Ray Cyrus, et al.
That adds another 'wow'.
Her flapper has flapped.
You know it, the shameless hussy...
