OUR VIEW: Suddenly, the Springs is in vogue
Online priview of Sunday's lead editorial
Some folks bellyache a lot here in Colorado Springs, bemoaning the cheap voters who wont approve taxes that weve all been told could somehow result in economic development and prosperity. The national press has made a joke of the Springs for its fiscally conservative ways.
Meanwhile, the people who decide where to relocate businesses arent laughing. Theyre planning to move here.
Outside Magazine just ranking Colorado Springs as the best place to live. http://outside.away.com/outside/destinations/200908/best-towns-america-colorado-springs.html
Outside Magazine lists as a drawback that it might be get this TOO CONSERVATIVE for some people.
As you know, Money Magazine consistently usually ranks it number 1 as well.

I f you or a CONSERVATIVE person is considering relocating, Id invite you to tell them about this family values oasis. Id personally suggest Northern Colorado Springs as being the best and the most conservative.
And just to lay my cards on the table, I am not in the Real Estate business and make nothing off anyone moving here. I just know that Soros and others have dumped millions into Colorado and have succeeding in taking over the state government for the first time in decades recently.
The Springs loses out to Denver and Boulder in the state elections but it is still close enough to make a difference.
Pass this along.
Take America back starting at the center...
TO ALL:
I didnt make the Outside or the Money ranking, I am just reporting it!
Traffic in CO Spgs, especially east to west, is horrific.
It’s pretty there, but a whole lot of people have already beat you to it.
I think some of the conservatism Colorado Springs is famous for can be traced to the Gazette-Telegraph’s long-time owner, R. C. Hoiles. When I visited there back in the fifties (my parents were from there), I got a chance to read the paper for a couple of weeks. As a teenager, it was my first exposure to the great Austrian economist, Ludwig von Mises. I clipped out one or two articles to save. Ten years later, I read “Atlas Shrugged” and now I’m a born-again Austrian. ;)

Conservatism in Colorado Springs, my home for the last 10 years, may have something to do with having over 110 Christian ministries HQ’ed here, and the five military bases. Also, a very large retired General officer contingent!
I love Colorado Springs. I visit relatives there every fall. Auntie lives near Garden of The Gods. All my peeps in The Springs are Christian and Conservative. I love Pike’s Peak and hate to see it disappear as I drive east on my way back home.
