Anecdotally Speaking, It's Over For the Democrats For Years to Come! (Vanity)
NHN ^ | 5/23/10 | Night Hides Not

My sister has been a rock-ribbed, staunch pro-union Democrat her entire life...until this year. Obamacare pushed her over the top, with assistance from her new (conservative) husband.

I about fell out of my chair (LMAO) as she explained her newfound love of conservative values and her disdain for The One We Have Been Waiting For.

She's also a big fan of Arizona's immigration legislation. Yowzah!

Democrats should be scared...very scared.

RINOs need not apply, either.

I wouldn’t trust her....not until you prick her finger and see red blood.

You never know......

Thanks for the enthusiasm but I don’t think its that easy.

What the dems are setting the pubbies up to do in the fall is win the congress and then do the necessary budget cuts to bring the US fiscal house in order.

That will cause a lot of pain for which the obama admin will demonize the pubbies but take credit for putting the US financial house in order.

Obama has done what Rush, Hannity, Fox and Beck couldn’t do.

He has shown the people the true face of the Democrat Party.

It’s not your Mom’s and Dad’s JFK type party anymore. I’ve been telling people that for years and they don’t get it. But with Obama, they are getting it.

The really sad thing about it is the press. The Dems would never get by with that garbage if the MSM didn’t carry it for them.

It’s difficult to predict any long term trends.

The Dems looked beaten fairly bad in 2004, losing the presidential race and with the GOP holding congress.

Just two years later, they came roaring back, smashing Dubya badly and sending the GOPers in congress packing. In 2008, their rout of the GOP continued, winning the presidency with over 50% of the vote for the first time since 1964, and making remarkable gains in the House and Senate.

I’d say 2010 and 2012 should be good years for the GOP and conservatives, but I’m reluctant to make any prediction too far into the future.

I live in the last bastion of freedom, the great Lone Star State.

My sister moved to NV last year, after living 50+ years in CA.

I think her metamorphosis began about a dozen years ago. She came to visit us when we moved from West TX to D/FW. Her jaw about dropped when she saw the school facilities my kids had vs. the crap her kids had in Oakland.

What really threw her off her game were the total strangers that simply said "Hi, how ya doin". LOL!

Hard to argue with that. Pubbies better deliver on what the voters want, or their a$$es will be next. IMHO, there are millions of over-50 voters that don't want to leave our kids and grandkids with a ruinous federal debt. By and large, those are the Tea Partiers.

Agree, agree, agree; Except, you cannot deny that W and the drunken sailor Pubs really MADE THEMSELVES a juicy and easy target for the ‘rats!

Today, JFK could not even get Nominated for Dog Catcher in a Democratic County.

Over the phone, those tests have limited value. I'll definitely administer those on my next trip out West. :^)

I don't buy that. Those same over 50s voters never had a problem with the debt before. It has to be something else. Whatever it is, it probably has more to do with self interest than it does some type of principled concern for future generations (a concern that has never really motivated them before now).

It's more likely rooted in self interest, whatever that may be.

I doubt JFK would still be a Democrat. They have been seriously hijacked.

Don’t fall for that. There are more than enough fools, idiots, traitors, and parasites to keep the Democrat Party in power for years to come.

You may be underestimating the disgust and sense of betrayal the majority feels about the GOP. The last few elections have shown it's worse to act like Democrats Light while claiming to be conservative (cough*mccain*cough) than to openly be a tax and spend liberal demmie.

If the GOP mainstreamers doesn't look around, properly analyze the Tea Party movement, and finally get the lesson of the last 2 cycles, they are going to continue be out of power for a very long time. Conserevatives will not vote for faux conservatives anymore, even to keep the demmies out.

If this conversion is true, you need to leverage it and utilize her as a center of influence to potentially convert her liberal dingbat friends.

Get her a Library to loan to her lady friends, consider the following:

The Road to Serfdom

The 5000 year Leap

The Fountainhead & Atlas Shrugged

Common Sense

Liberal Fascism
