HOUSTON (AP) -- A 14-year-old who gave birth at her friend's Houston apartment, then helped discard the newborn's body after he suffocated, was arrested after a child who witnessed the death told a school counselor, authorities said Tuesday.....

Sometimes I really hate reading everything I can on FR. Stuff like this makes it seems like the world sucks a whole lot more.
:(
Yeah, and don’t you wonder what goes through God’s mind when he reads stuff like this!

Well, there's part of the problem.
I don’t understand why she was arrested. Earlier that day, she could have walked into an abortion clinic and murdered her child in cold blood, and we could all celebrated her “right to choose”.
Must have had a damn good reason.
Seriously, though, stuff like this can test a guys faith. It’s just so evil. So horrible. Why? So many failures, it’s so friggin sad.
Not nearly as much as it would suck if nobody cared.
If I may, and I may get slaughtered for this opinion, there are many on FR who would say “At least she didn’t get an abortion” because that’s there kick and all. Whatever. Don’t get me wrong, I abhor abortion, but in some cases, it’s more humane than following through.
Yuck.
Thanks for finding about the only possible bright side. I sure couldn’t.
“The mother’s 11-year-old sister, who witnessed the birth, was the only person to know of the pregnancy, Abbey said. The children’s parents were at work during the incident. “Everybody’s parents work, they were not aware of what was going on,”
‘Well, there’s part of the problem.’
While it is true that there is a terrible lack of parental oversight today, it is also true that there are many parents like me who had to work while raising children. I can say without any hesitation that I would have known if my 14 year old daughter was having a baby. The featured story is about people who live what seems to be horrible lives. Children who fornicate and parents who are unaware and apathetic seem surreal. What is puzzling to me is why this 14 year old who murdered a living child was not charged with murder instead of the lesser charge. In addition, the adult who was called after the birth and disposed of the dead baby by throwing it in the trash was not charged at all. Police indicate it may be a “possibility”. A possibility? Isn’t assisting in a crime called being an accessory? I thought Texas would be tougher on this type of thing.
I don’t even know if thats against the law anymore, sounds just like what Obama advocates. I say at most she acted stupidity give the kid her own reality show and a free cell phone
“Dont get me wrong, I abhor abortion, but in some cases, its more humane than following through.”
More humane than living? I’m sure the baby would disagree.
Texas will make sure they all get what’s coming. The state just probably just delaying charges until it gets all its ducks in line. Better to wait and let people talk thinking they got by with something than throwing around charges before the whole story is out.
I understand from whence your logic comes. For decades, I have argued with pro-life friends and asked them where are the loud and angry protests when teenagers give birth in secret and kill their newborns? Where are the rallies for the countless infants and toddlers that are beaten to death by mommy’s new boyfriend? Where is the outrage for those that live short, miserable, terrified lives and are finally killed by the torture and torment they have been forced to endure? Is that really a life? Is that something to be thankful for?
I would much rather these breeders(because they are most certainly NOT mothers)go ahead and have the abortions. Spare these innocents the unspeakable pain and suffering inflicted upon them and let them go straight to God’s Loving Arms.
I do what I can.
Doesn’t seem to me like the baby had any choice.
Good try, though. Some days reality beats idealogy. Today is one of them.
My tagline is a quote from Survivorman. He goes fishing and starts to eat the fish raw like the Man Vs Wild idiot.
Then he says “I could eat it raw, but why do that when I have a fire.”
Seems appropriate in so many different circumstances. Perhaps not with clams or prepared sushi.
