TOLEDO, Ohio — A group of Michigan autoworkers won a share of a Powerball jackpot, and one of them has already splurged on a piece of Detroit muscle — a new Corvette.

It also turns out the group picked the right guy to buy the lucky ticket, an Ohio man who had won a lottery jackpot before.....

Auto workers...one bought a corvette already...the ticket buyer won previously in Ohio and each gets 1.2 million. I’m not a gambling man but I’d be suprised if most if not all of these winners piss away the 1.2 mil and end up back at work at some point in the not too distant future.

If they’re UAW this constitutes a cut in pay.

Amen. When I first saw the reference to the one buying a Corvette, I thought, "Typical lower-class mentality. Cannot see any further than down the corner. And, you're right, they will indeed piss it away.

According to the left this is unfair and the winners may only keep forty thousand each.
People are unemployed, and besides, they already have jobs!

Dh gets into a powerball group at work and if we ever won only 1.2 million he would not quit working. We would probably build the home we want on the land we already own and the rest would go into allowing him to retire earlier. He’d still probably have another decde plus of work since he is only 52.

They are set with their UAW pensions. They can always get gigs in election years as rent-a-protesters if that fails. < /s >

Look on the bright side: It will take them more time to piss it away than it will take ObaMao and congress to piss away the $900 billion from Porkulus I.

My aren’t we Mr. Judgmental? The man who bought the Corvette said he had no plans to quit work before his retirement time shows up.

Statistics being what they are, 70% of lottery winners squander their winnings in the first few years. Money changes people and relationships. Time will tell if the owner of the new vette chooses to work until retirement or has no other option but to keep working.

You're right, it's sad, but true.
