AFL-CIO guy on my porch
Vanity | 7/01/10 | smalltownslick

Posted on 07/01/2010 5:21:20 PM PDT by smalltownslick

I've never done a vanity before, and I looked at a bunch of threads hoping to avoid doing one. But nothing I found matched up with what I wnat to post about.

About half an hour ago, someone came up on my porch to my front door. (I am now in VERY small town Ohio, and people don't just come walking up on your porch like that.) I went to the door to see who it was and what he wanted. He was wearing a red T-shirt and carrying a clipboard. He mentioned the name of an organization that went by me too quickly, don't know what it was, but the rest of what he said was AFL-CIO. That's also what his red shirt said. I just said, "union, go away," and he disappeared lickety split! This was about 7:30 Eastern. Anyone else have any experience like this??

I worked in many unionized plants.
Union thugs are very rarely brave one on one.
They always work in packs.

Union and ACORN are not welcome in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. If the turds show up at least inthe neighborhood I live in the turd would be tarred and feathered, plus escape within an inch of his/her miserable life. The cenusu workers were told to get the hell out of this neighborhoos, supervisor returned with census worker and both had bricks thrown at them.

Now you can heed my words or not... but one day soon you will need a gun... you will find yourself in a situation that is very dangerous and you will wish that you had a gun. Seek some professional training in your area. Shoot some different types of weapons and decide with your trainer what it is that you need. Then practice, practice, practice. Then you will be prepared. It is better have a gun and not need it... than to need a gun and not have it.

well i think they should have their salaries docked at least...the city gave them what they asked for so they would stay out of the union and now we are stuck with this never ending legal fee.

I just skimmed your thread,,,

Arming yourself is always a good idea,,,

A local woman had to fight off a home invasion last week

with a large kitchen knife,,,

Reaching in her kitchen door after he broke out a glass,,,

As for this guy in the red shirt,,,

You don't know who/what he is,,,

Best to call your local LEO’s and make a report,,,

A shotgun is the very best up close,,,

A while back I bought a new Mossberg Model 88 in 12 ga. ,,,

Just a tad over $300.00,,,

That's cheeep insurance...;0)

We used to have more but our Lt. Colonel moved. He had around 20 himself. My dog can’t shoot so I have to cover her. She has issues with her trigger paw.

FReerepublic needs donors, and since you use it as your own personal blog, I figured you might want to actually give something back and contribute. I just did.

A few good FReepers wanted Free Republic is currently delivering over 1.2 million pageviews to over 230,000 visitors per day. That's 40 million pageviews to 7 million visitors per month or 120 million pageviews per quarter, 480 million pageviews per year. We currently have over 330,000 registered screen names on FR. Out of these millions of visits, hundreds of millions of pageviews, hundreds of thousands of registered FReepers and hundreds of thousands of regular lurkers only a relatively FEW actually donate the funds to keep FR alive. Now I'm not complaining, because we've always managed to meet our fundraising goals in the past, but it is taking longer and longer to accomplish the task. And part of that may be because it's mostly the same few dedicated FReepers providing the funds and along with the rest of us I'm sure they're stretched to the limit. Sure would be nice if a few more FReepers and lurkers would lend a hand and send in a few bucks. Doesn't take much. I think our average donation is around $20, but you can send in $5, $10, $20, $30 or more and make it a monthly contribution if you can. A relatively few good FReepers is all it takes to keep FR on the air so that hundreds of thousands of us can join together in kicking liberal butt and continue the fight for our freedom!! For example, 1,500 dedicated FReepers and lurkers donating an average of $20 each per month is all it takes to continue delivering these hundreds of millions of propaganda-fighting, pro-liberty pages to tens of millions of readers every year. How many concerned citizens and potential voters can we reach for a tiny fraction of a cent per page? FR delivers a BIG bang for the buck!! Thank you for providing the bang AND the buck!! If you enjoy posting and or reading FR and have never donated before, please consider doing so today. You can donate by secure server by clicking the link below or send your checks or money orders to: Free Republic, LLC PO Box 9771 Fresno, CA 93794 Thank you all very much for your continuing participation and support!! Contribute to FR by secure server:

If you’re not quite ready to get a weapon, at least keep a can of wasp spray by your front door. You have to be close, but it is a pretty effective deterent until you get a gun.

No, I don’t. I should probably get something, but I’ve never owned or used a gun, so I keep putting it off.

Get a 357 Revolver. You can practice with 38 ammo. A revolver is a smarter choice if you're not very experienced with fire arms. Take a gun safety class and practice - practice - practice.

Oh don't worry about that, there are plenty of worthless vanity posts on this forum. Yours wasn't. A few weeks ago somebody posted a vanity asking for shoes for his kid.

I had a Dem volunteer show up at my door the night before the election to ‘make sure I knew where to vote’ - we are in a small ‘city’ in No. WI though. For (oppositional) informational purposes I’m on several Obama related mailing lists, so I think that’s why they showed up.
