So - by choice - the children have been denied a father.
They have 2 “mothers” but only a biological bond with the one who will, most likely, lose custody.
If this woman’s poem is an indication as to how Etheridge operates - she’ll soon bring home a new young thing and try to set up house again - then go off to do the rock star thing.
I hope the nannies are decent people.
David Crosby Has Mixed Feelings About Donating Sperm Again

Rocker David Crosby was disappointed when he learned Melissa Etheridge and her lesbian lover Julie Cypher were splitting up because he donated sperm to help them conceive two children. Crosby wanted to help his friends become parents, and the couple’s son Beckett was born in 1998, followed by daughter Bailey in 2000.
He famously posed with Etheridge, Cypher and their children for a Rolling Stone cover, where the world discovered Crosby’s role in the conception. To his dismay, Etheridge and Cypher decided to split up seven months later and now share custody of the two children. Cypher is married to Matthew Hale while Etheridge is married to actress Tammy Lynn Michaels, who recently gave birth to twins using an anonymous sperm donor.
He tells People, “Would I be a sperm donor again? I don’t know. It’s such a personal thing. It’s discouraging how this worked out, because one of the main reasons that (wife Jan and I) did it was because of the love between Julie and Melissa, who have obviously transferred that affection to new partners. But both women have brought the kids up here and been with me at different times.
“It’s very kind of them both to let me spend time with the kids, because our official deal was that I signed papers relinquishing parental rights of any sort after I made my gift. They’re great kids, they’re very special people in my life.”

She left Lou Diamond Phillip for Melissa Etheridge..but then she changed back to guys...I kid you not.

The original reference and reply were to dogma. If you can only support a statement by digging back years to a forgotten reference, it’s not dogma. Just an outlier opinion that never found a place in the larger debate.
Besides, do you really think Psychology Today was being referenced in the first place?
The real psychology on display in this story isn’t gay or straight. It’s the successful entertainer on the road with the spouse far away at home with the kids and too many groupies willing and available. Pamela des Barres might understand but most wouldn’t, and Tammy seems to have reached her limit.

David Crosby needs to cough up some real child support money now.
Sadly - there are 4 kids involved here.
David Crosby fathered the first 2 children when Melissa was “married” to another woman.
That relationship broke up and Melissa “married” this woman and had twins by an anonymous donor.
Sounds like Tammy wasn’t interested in being the “wife” in the relationship.
It’s hard to tell.
It was her idea. They are her biological kids afterall.
But now she’s being told she can’t have any money - and she may lose the kids too?
After being the one who offered to stay home and take care of them day after day?
She sounds like the more normal of the two. I hope she gets custody and takes Melissa to the cleaners.
Sounds like Tammy woke up and saw that she was married to her...mom.
Mom who hadn't had a hit song in a decade or more.
