I am looking for recommendations for a CCW pistol. I am working through the legalities of getting my permit, and am starting to shop for a weapon.
I already have a Ruger SR9, and am happy with it, but it is a bit bulky for CC. Want to stay with 9mm, or perhaps .380...leaning towards auto, but could be convinced to carry a wheel gun, also.
Your suggestions are always appreciated.

First of all I have the p32, 32 caliber. Its only 7 oz unloaded which is nice since I wear shorts and a tshirt most of the time. Hard to conceal a larger gun without wearing more. I figured it was better to have something than nothing, so I bought it.
Its accurate enough to have a decent grouping at 10 yds. A lot of muzzle rise due to the light weight I guess. The last time at the range I found small metal shavings when I pulled the magazine out. Not sure where they came from but the metal color was the same as the barrel.
Kel-Tec mini-9 is the gun of choice for off duty police around here. If it’s too expensive, Glock G-26 would be and is my choice. Just learn to use the awful trigger.
I would definitely recommend an auto ... The ammo capacity and reload time is important, as in an emergency where help may not come.

OK, I’m not going to start another vanity post, but, it seems to me in my small little mind that there is an increasing number of new posters that come on to FR and and are always asking about recommendations for firearms. They are always the same questions; What is the best... “fill in the blank”. I would think that these redundant posts could be summarized into some sort of “stickies”.
My question: Are these numerous posts and responses making us look like a bunch of gun crazed “anti-governement” types?
BTW, I enjoy the firearms related posts and anything gun related more than most anything else, but it just has me wondering. Are we being “setup” to be labeled as a “pro-gun site”?. Personally, I have no fear as I am getting past my prime. But, it is just something to think of? Flame away if you feel like it.
Texas dept of safety determined the .45 acp with hollow points has an 88% one shot kill percentage.
OK. I have a CZ 82 (9x18 Mak) and refinished with Gun Kote and some walnut grips.
Flame? Got that covered......
Speaking of 380s, does anyone have any insight into the Bersa Thunder 380?
Whats wrong with being a pro-gun site?
I love these threads, I always learn something new.
Where did you get those grips? I want a set for my CZ!
“Kel-Tec PF9”
Good choice.
If they are, they are failing. Most of these type of threads are very educational, informative, and usually steer clear of nuts. I think that people who are real shooters are somewhat more clear minded and rational that your typical internet cowboy. The people who mouth off the most are the ones who probably can provide no real insight beyond what they learn playing World of Warcraft.
A Baby Glock works best for me.
Yes.
Although the cylinder is thick it conceals and draws better than a similar size auto.
The shape really helps.
The liteweight versions are easy to carry in a pocket holster, front or cargo pocket.
Very safe. Glocks and similar w/ no safety and light trigger scare me when carried with one in the chamber.
Male FReepers carry fiddy cals in our shorts. Fag. :)
I am a gun crazed anti-governement type and I hang out with same.
This is such a personal question. You’ll probably go through a couple of guns before you get what works for you.
For me, Sig p239 in 357 Sig. In 9 it’s a very sweet handling pistol
Me sooooo hornee!
