Texas dept of safety determined the .45 acp with hollow points has an 88% one shot kill percentage.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Plenty reliable, but crappy trigger pull. You can do better for similar money.

You are a man after my own heart. I have several CZ-82’s. I keep one in each vehicle and often carry one. They’re one of the best deals out there for the money.

That is the reason that I started the thread...to learn some stuff from folks that are more experienced than I.

For those who oppose this site for ideological reasons, they have already “labled” us, so it does not matter.

If you're not recoil sensitive, you could try one of these.

...Are these numerous posts and responses making us look like a bunch of gun crazed “anti-governement” types?...

I resemble that remark. People who love freedom value firearms. They are the very essence of freedom.

There's really only one CCW handgun in the world, and that would be the Smith model 642 in .38 special.

Absolutely the best choice. I agree 100%.

All of those are a good choice.

Can you get a Crimson Trace for the Kahr?

HA, me too.

I hang with a whole slew of “anti-government, gun-crazed” nutbags.

recoil sensitive

LOL, with that example, would that be akin to being sensitive to being hit by a NYC Taxi?

The best concealed firearm is the one you have when you need it. The worst is the one you left in the car or at home.

I have not tried the “Thunder” but have owned several Bersa .380 pistols and they are fine guns. My first one was a strange one in which you pinched the front of the dust cover to take it down.

That little inexpensive Bersa may have been the most accurate pistol I have ever owned and that includes a bunch of High Standard, Ruger, Colt, and Browning target .22’s. That Bersa would just keep putting them all in the same hole at 15 feet, if I was really careful.

I trust my life to a Springfield XD-40 subcompact in a Crossbreed SuperTuck. Over a thousand rounds now without a single FTF or FTE. The weight of the barrel brings it back to target for quick follow-up shots.

It’s extremely accurate and fun to shoot. I know that it will go “bang” every single time, and I love it.

If I could afford it I’d buy a little pistol. I like the idea of my brass staying with the firearm.

Everybody is talking the metal, but no one is talking about the leather.

If the the leather or plastic if you prefer doesn’t fit right, you won’t want to carry, regardless of caliber or capabilities.

You got to try ‘em both out and find out what fits you best and how you are going to break leather under stress.

Remember, 40 percent of all armed encounters with bad guys are usually two or more subjects. Carry whatever you feel comfortable with engaging two or more targets quickly with minimal reacquisition time and have enough rounds to finish the job.

FWIW, I carry my G26 most times, in the winter I carry my G31 in a shoulder rig.
