So what’s the big deal??

So what’s the big deal??
In the late 80’s I was working nights on an open fishing boat during a total lunar eclipse. During totality, one of the customers asked if we could turn off the lights so he could get a picture of it. I laughed so hard I nearly lost my lunch.
So total solar eclipses happen every 18 months...what is so rare about that?
Some video.
We see the sun at almost totally, then watch a surfer in the dark. wow.
