"JournoList e-mails reveal how the liberal media shaped the 2008 election"
At the link is the first MSM article I have seen that makes the case for part of the role that the MSM played in the '08 Election.

do I really have to say it???
Oops - you caught us.
Sorry, our bad. :)
Bump
No! Say it ain’t so!
You mean the scumbag Democrat newsrooms helped get a “community organizer” from Chicago elected President of the United States and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces simply by failing to do their job and vet the steaming pantload??
Screw that. America got what it deserved and deserved what it got.
Like Rush (and others) have said: “America can survive Ubama, but it cannot survive the people who elected Ubama.”
‘Would be nice if they admitted that the MSM campaigned against Bush. I remember reading a blogger who listed all those that Bush had to ‘run against’ and that blogger listed the MSM. It made Bush seem larger than life to prevail against all that the MSM could throw at him. Added to leftie rage when he won. I think that’s why some of them truly believed he cheated; they they thought they made it impossible for him to win and he won anyway.
Remember, the New York Post is a conservative paper owned by Rupert Murdock, not exactly MSM.
How much effect did the Journ-o-List gang have in getting McLame nominated?
Evan Thomas, then editor of Newsweek bragged that the media would provide a 15% bounce for John Kerry over George W. Bush in the 2004 election.
I tend to agree with his estimate. Because, without the media, Kerry (and Democrats in general) would only get about 33% of the vote.
JournoList e-mails!
JournoList e-mails helped elect Obama!
I live in NYC and claim it as mainstream as the NY Daily News or NYSlimes. I think we should change the MSM title to journomedia/journalistas or something.
Yeah, but we don’t by our ink by the barrel...
What does that have to do with the info we have access to? If I can find it anybody can find it.
Freepers are an exception - we're willing to 'search' - google - or find alternative sites that offer something beyond the liberal elite line.
My point is 400 members of JournoLists are going to hit a lot more people than say a hundred thousand bloggers... or a million. Journolisters publish in papers buying ink by the barrel - we talk to each other. That's a difference.
My comments will be read by 5 or 6 people. Yours too. If either of us was writing for the Washington Post - not only would thousands more read us - they would be the decision makers. That's what it has to do with... Saying "we have access" to information tends to blame everyday Americans with families and jobs and not the time we have to 'search' for truth. Maybe if we could guilt trip the MSM into hiring a few more token conservatives ...
Whether true or not what does any of that have to do with my original post? Nothing.
I'll try again - IF every Freeper was totally aware - and voted against Obama, it would NOT have stopped him from being elected. We CAN BLAME the media - they are the information gatekeepers for the vast majority of citizens - and they worked together against us.
That is easily the biggest "kiss butt - total suck-up" writing I've EVER seen. Was there an editor within miles? What an embarrassment. Sounds more like a 'fabulous party write up, darling" from Fire Island than a news story...
Round up the usual suspects.
Nothing in my post indicated that I thought that was the case.
We CAN BLAME the media - they are the information gatekeepers for the vast majority of citizens - and they worked together against us.
The media is not to blame for the ignorance of the people when the information is easily available. That is just a lame excuse for them.
absolutely...
So your position is that the MSM is totally irrelevant? They offer lies and conspiracy - BUT it doesn't matter because people can find the truth if they LOOK FOR IT?
Silly - almost "liberal" silly... you've been hitting the liberal 'group-think kool aid' again, right?
So a company is putting out tires that explode when a car hits 65 MPH - but it's OK because IF you know where to look you'll find information telling you NOT to buy those tires? Tough luck for those without your research skills? Charming. Totally charming...
I'm thankful we don't live in the same world...
This highlights my objection to McCain-Feingold, and various ‘election reform’ laws. Private individuals and organizations were precluded from running ads, etc. for 30 days before the elections, but media had free rein.
Dreadful laws. But, equally culpable is our ignorant voting public, who base their opinions, and their votes, on what they read or hear/see in the MSM.
Whatever planet you’re on I hope you enjoy it. Apparently the reading comprehension courses there are pretty lousy and the mind reading courses are a complete bust.
