Junk food addict Sharon Mevsimler, 40, weighed 45 stone and needed an oxygen mask due to the strain her weight put on her heart and lungs. But witnesses at Broomfield Hospital - where she had been a patient for two months - said relatives brought in fish and chips and family-sized buckets of fried chicken to the mother-of-four.

Amazing to me the mindset of the morons who keep feeding the fatty too big to get out of bed or to fit through the doorway.
When you wake up too fat to fit out of your bedroom and get into the kitchen, the LAST thing you need is some helpful SOB to start bringing you your food in bed.

Looks like that’s two more businesses just went out of business. One “fish and chips” and one “fried chicken” restaurant.
Not insurance in this case, this was all under the watch of the UK's National Health Service.

When a person is that fat, it’s got to be something of a medical challenge just to stabilize her and then try to gradually reduce her weight. Idiotic relatives sneaking in truckloads of grease cannot make the job any easier.

Private Insurance or NHS should not be made responsible to pay the medical treatment for a person that who cares nothing for their own health and is suicidal.

When the person is too fat to get out of bed or fit out of the bedroom you MIGHT think it would be a wake up call for the person to take in less calories; but it seems the only lifestyle change that most are willing to subject the poor dear to is that NOW they take their gross greasy highly processed high sugar high salt diet IN BED, rather than out of bed.
And lets add too that - the taxpayers in Britain paid for this woman’s medical care - the self-inflicted results of her choices to continue to eat like an idiot.

This should either be ruled a suicide (family thus implicated for assisting it), or ruled a homicide - as the family clearly are directly responsible.
That being said, the Brit medical system is probably glad to get this leech off the public medical system...

630 pounds is nothing these days. We have WAY fatter people than that here. Can’t Britain beat the US at anything?
Seriously though, food addiction is really bad. Unless you are a relative or super-best-friend of someone with this issue, you don’t know how really bad it is. Normal people can’t get that fat.
But what can they do? Just let her die? She also does have to eat, paradoxical as that may sound. It’s a dilemma for health care.

believe it or not, as an EMT I have been in a home where a woman could NOT fit through a doorway. she was wearing two sheets sewn together and had a fridge in the room....along with a commode. the debris on the floor was about six inches deep.....everywhere. stunk like heck in there. had to get on the floor to collar and backboard her mother who had fallen and couldn’t get up....she could not even assist her. she sat there bitching at us.
