At Paul’s wedding there was a bunch of Paul’s USMC buddies, both enlisted and officers, I made me want to shed a couple of decades and join up with ‘em.
America is blessed to have these young men ..

I have the official team picture of the freshman wrestling team from my son's freshman year in high school. Of course they are all skinny and gawky-looking. There are 4 boys together in the middle of the picture, 2 above, 2 lower. Of those 4, one went on to graduate early so he could join the USMC, one transferred to a different high school sophomore year. I stumbled on the picture after my son was in USMC. ALL FOUR became Marines within 2.5 years of graduation. It is not a school or neighborhood that sends very many to the military.

I met my hubby (Viet Nam era Marine) through USMC (long story), both of his sons also Marines, as was his father who served at Pelelieu. No military background to speak of in my family, but my father did his 3 years in the US Army.

The “excellence” of the Marine Corps is very humbling.

Just got a short email from his wife....tests are still negative.
But after they did the drain, he's resting comfortably. may be moved out of CCU tomorrow if heart rate stays low.
This may be a long haul, but right now things seem (hopefully)
stable.

I want to take a moment to thank all of you who responded both on the thread and in FReep mail.
You truly caring,loving, compassionate people. I pulled all of your responses and got then emailed to the family , they were truly amazed with your outpouring of love and prayers. Your are all special folks..

Good news ... Paul is at home and resting ...and concerned how this will effect his USMC career. They never did figure out what caused was but, they are going under the suspicion that it is viral in nature and are treating it accordingly.
Once again I humbly thank you for your prayers and concern.

Well he had a bit of a relapse which caused a 3 day stay back in the hosp. But came home today .. the Doc’s surmise they may have taken him off the meds too quickly ....
He’s really worried that the Corps will give him the boot ...
