U.S. Airways sucks.
That is all.
(Oh, and please donate to FR).
Correction:
SUCKS... the big wazzoo.
AAAAAIIIII(ways>!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, even 1st class on US Airways is uncomfortable and terrible. HOWEVER, the last time I checked they still have the best safety record so I overlook the old and dirty planes, bad food, and grumpy personnel.
I disagree.
But not on helping Free Republic.
Flying is for the birds..
Call the beautiful stewardess over and get a martini and have a cigarette. Oh, wait, wrong era.
Do you mean US AIRways or is that a typo or is this the new Japanese/US joint venture airline?
In any case, can you provide a little more detail or specifics on the element of suck-icity you encountered?
hey martin.. in early June, a group of girls flew from LAX to DFW. Two of them were unaccompanied minors, the other two were 18 and 19. They were all going to the same place with their parents’ permission and (unaccompanied minor paid fares, whatever that was).
The gate assignment changed, and none of the kids involved were experienced enough to pay close attention. They were all checked in and had boarding passes, but their flight took off without them while they sat at the wrong gate.
The airline? Three guesses.
Most airlines do.
Have you been on Delta lately?
Last two times I flew on USAirways they actually got me and my luggage to the right place and at the right time.
Last two times on Delta they stranded me.
I haven't heard anything about this..?
I just flew them from Norfolk VA to Boise ID and I heartily concur!!!!
That's an extra fee of 100-159 dollars that's SUPPOSED to ensure that airline personnel make sure that the minor ticket holder gets from point A to point B.
Delta was the worst airline I’ve traveled on the past decade. Horrible stewardesses, filthy plane that stunk to high heaven, and they broke both wheels off my suitcase.
I avoid them like the plague.

They didnt call the predecessor "AGONY" airlines without cause....
Take 'em easy....
Be safe....
I sure this isn’t posted on breaking news.
I was working on a contract that required twice a week visits to Canada. Out of habit we flew U.S. Air because when working a government contract, you hafta fly (or at least at time you hadda) a U.S. carrier. When I realized that it wasn’t a government contract, so I could fly Air Canada, my heart sang for joy for months. I < maple leaf > Air Canada.
I do take U.S. Air to and from Huntsville, because American flies through Atlanta and they cancel about half of the Huntsville-Atlanta flights until they got a full boat. U.S. flies through Charlotte, and while they schedule fewer flights, they most always get in and out on time.
Lol and how.
Aged stews wearing basically t-shirts here.
Shoulda flown Southwest.
Brooks Brothers dress socks suck too!
I try not to fly anymore. It’s irritating, restrictive and too expensive.
Call the beautiful stewardess over and get a martini and have a cigarette. Oh, wait, wrong era.
I used to travel for the company I am still with back in the mid, late 70’s. Back then, you could smoke, get a decent meal and ogle some fine looking “attendants”. Also, everyone who traveled by air back then, wore at minimum, a jacket and tie. You could wander around the airport, security was negligible and the TWA flight from Boston to Chicago served Steak & Eggs for breakfast. I hate to sound like my old man, but those sure were the days...
Yup better to be pissed of than dead
I flkew to Tucson on US air
My luggage arrived 2 days later SOAKING WET
I dont mean damp or moist, when I opened it I was SQUEEZING WATER out of everything
They would not do anything about it- $500 of clothing and stuff ruined including my camera
On my return flight I lost my jacket- I called immediately and no one was able to track it down- I said SOMEONE had to clean the plane... ASK THEM (this was my fault, i know... but they were very unhelpful)
Ur right it was a typso.
DELTA
Don’t

Is this where you are now? Stuck on the plane?

I used to fly a lot for business and the only time I had luggage lost was by Northworst.
Most all U.S. airlines suck nowadays. Southwest is probably the best among them but the next time I go overseas I’ll be on a foreign carrier.
That is not an industrial humor situation...
Flew out of JFK to Phoenix last week. When they brought out the sandwiches and stuff to buy (credit card only) they ran out of all the good stuff after only about 10 rows. The rest of us could starve. Learned my lesson, buying my food before I board the plane now.

Delta = Don’t Expect Luggage To Arrive
A parking lot attendant called it Useless Air.
U.S. Airways sucks.
They're the ones that useta be called Agony Airlines anat, martin.
Changing the name to "US" don't fool nobody...
It's just like 'em jagoffs who call emselves "America's Team" anat when they're really a buncha wussies.
Why didn’t you tell him he should’a taken the train?
U.S. Scare. White Plains to Buffalo, middle of winter, wicked thunderstorms. The pilot was a six year old kid, drunk as a skunk!
I hear you.
Mid to late ‘70’s was primo for air travel.
Except when I had to run around Pennsylvania in a de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter on Allegheny Commuter or Altair.
However, my experience with United on the way back was hands down the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life! The highlights:
1) ticket counter rep at O'Hare regaling me with boasts about how she didn't look her age, while I was trying to get my luggage checked in,
2) being kicked off my flight, and my seat given to a stand-by customer, even though I was already in my seat and buckled it,
3) luggage went to Denver, though I was headed home to Boise.
But United is no stranger to horrendous customer service. Check out this video, "United Breaks Guitars"...a catchy tune and funny as all get-out!

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
I was flying from Melbourne Australia (on Qantas) to LAX with a 3 month-old. The people on Qantas were unbelievably helpful & sweet. I was alone. Then, my flight from LA back to Pittsburgh was on US Scare. I was flying 1st class (not that that should matter but still) and the flight attendant refused to give me water to mix a packet of baby formula. She told me if I needed water to mix formula, then I should have been responsible enough to bring it along. How she expected me to do this I have no idea since the TSA (Tools Standing Around) were confiscating & throwing away all fluids at that time. Evenutally, she gave me the hot water used to make tea but was such a bizotch I have never forgotten it. Let’s just say in my experience with that airline, her attitude was NOT an isolated incident.
I don't think that's allowed anymore.
Good old days. Some flights and some airlines were terrific. There were exceptions, such as Piedmont Air, one of the predecessors of USAirways, which always gouged Charlotte passengers, a tradition that has continued. We had all kinds of schemes to avoid the overcharges such as the "hidden city" method. If I wanted roundtrip Charlotte/New York/LaGuardia, for example, I would book the final destination as Asheville, lowering the fare by $75. I just deplaned in Charlotte and didn't use the final leg of the flight.
Sometimes it paid to drive to other cities to begin the flight, Raleigh or Greensboro. Fares were so outrageous that we even took Amtrak on occasion to New York.
Any airline that had Capt. Sullenberger as a pilot is OKAY in my book.
That plane sailed down the river right past my apartment building.
And not a single passenger sued the airline either.
Of course delta stranded you. Delta is actually two acronyms..
Doesn’t Ever Leave The Airport
Don’t Expect Luggage To Arrive
I use to have to fly their little twin turboprop commuter puddle-jumpers fairly frequently. The pilots looked to be around 25 years old with a cap two sizes too big down around their ears. They never would fly around a thunderstorm. Those were some rockin-an-rollin’ white knuckle years of travel. We didn’t call them U.S. Scareways for nuttin’.
US Air and Delta have so many rude buffoons who work for them. Recently while checking my $25.00 bag the agent almost put the wrong claim sticker on it until I caught it first. They constantly delay my baggage for arrival too. Less problems with Southwest and American but I hate flying but must do it for work.
I would rather go back to PSA(Pacific Southwest Airlines) or Branff. Both made flying PLEASUREABLE!
