In 2001, he was convicted of several dozen charges of fraud. He was released from federal prison in 2008. However, he remains on federal probation and still owes almost $9.4 million in restitution to his victims.[1]

FGS this is ridiculous.

Are we going to judge him by his parents?

Are we going to blame parents for their children’s messy lives?

Remains on federal probation? Now we know why both Biden and Obama really weren't invited. People on federal probation don't get to be in the same room with the President and Vice President. It would have been awkward to not have the father of the groom at the wedding.

If President Bush's daughters had married someone with this type of family - it'd be front page for months. Strange how once again the press has given one of their own a pass. Not that I'm opposed in this case - the father is not the son - but I would like them to apply the same standard to Republicans. Or bash both.

The MSM double standard is making them look silly - and us look truthful.

Hmmm, maybe they should just keep it up?

Hopefully the yuck history of both sets of parents don't taint the newlywed couple. Let every man/woman stand or fall on their own merits.

PS. Remember we ALL are SINNERS in need of Gods saving grace.

Joe Kennedy was a stock swindler, didn't hurt his or his family's prospects one bit. I overheard a reporter describe the event yesterday as "a wedding of American Royalty". I don't even have the urge to puke anymore. It has all transcended that, completely. What we have here is a class of people and their hangers-on who are completely parasitical on our culture, economy, and society. They contribute nothing, exploit the laws and the good will of the people for their own enrichment and aggrandizement. And we are supposed to worship them for it. Exactly like admiring and celebrating intestinal worms for grabbing a free ride in our gut. Exactly like that.

In nature, successful parasites 'know' when enough is enough, how not to bleed the host dry, how to stay sub-clinical. Their own survival depends upon this. The vermin in the clinton/Soros culture haven't learned this. They are now 'royalty', and are thus beyond any known treatment, or so they think. The host knows that it is sick, and this time may not ridicule the doctor when he prescribes a cure.

As long as she’s not running for office it’s really irrelevant. But geez, you got Bill for a daddy and this guy for a daddy-in-law. I hope Chelsea has a happy life with her new husband and stays away from politics.

Tents costing $600,000 have been set up, $100,000 is going on tables and crockery and a staggering $500,000 is being spent on flowers, thought to be Casablanca lillies and orchids.

Miss Clinton’s dress, designed by Oscar de la Renta or Vera Wang, is rumoured to be a cool $24,000, and the jewellery she wears on the day is worth $250,000. The cake alone will cost $10,000 !!!!!!!!!!!

Chelsea's new step-dad Ed Mezvinsky is finally our of jail, (after an 8 year sentence,) Did you read about that anywhere else in all the wedding coverage???) ----

so now is your chance to read up on all the sordid details of his 20+ years long history of financial fraud of his friends and clients ---

and the $10,000,000 that he netted ---

after FAILING to cheat the Nigerians out of their money first!!!!

Who in the world has NOT heard of Nigerian scams ???

How dumb could this ex-Congressman possibly be?

Yet note that both Mezvinsky jr. and Chelsea Victoria jr went to Stanford University (when she wasn't falling down drunk at her many parties in London).

Does anyone here really think either of these two is intellectually qualified to go to Stanford U ???

Can we see their SAT scores ???

Thought not.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2558600/posts

Her new step-dad was so GREEDY that he tried to scam the Nigerians !!!

When that failed (many times), then he scammed his own friends and family and clients out of $10,000,000!!!

---------------------------------

Link to archive copy of DesMoines Register

Prosecutors later would call Mezvinsky a one-man "crime wave" and said they uncovered elements of fraud in nearly every business deal of his dating to 1980. "We didn't even bother to look back farther," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Zauzmer

He is 66 and serving the beginning of an 80-month sentence in federal prison for numerous charges, including bank, wire and mail fraud. He took people's money - more than $10 million - in elaborate lies and schemes.

-------------------

Chelsea's New Family:

If reports are true that Chelsea Clinton and her boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky are considering marriage, the father of the groom won't be able to attend the wedding until he is released from prison in November 2008.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2558600/posts

Ed Mezvinsky, a former Democratic Congressman from Iowa, is serving a seven-year sentence for fraud after getting caught up in a series of Nigerian e-mail scams.

Initially, Mezvinsky became the victim of "just about every different kind of African-based scam we've ever seen," federal prosecutor Bob Zauzmer told 20/20 for a report to be broadcast this evening.

• But then, says Zauzmer, Mezvinsky began to steal from clients and even his own mother-in-law to raise the money to try yet another scheme.

• "He was always looking for the home run. He was always trying to find the business deal that would make him as wealthy as all the people in his social circle," said Zauzmer.

After leaving Congress, Mezvinsky moved to Philadelphia's Main Line suburbs with his wife Marjorie Margolies, a former television reporter, who won a seat in Congress herself as a Democratic congresswomen from Pennsylvania.

"They were seen as people of means; they were a legitimate power couple," said Gar Joseph, a political columnist for the Philadelphia Daily News.

The Mezvinkskys were also close to Bill and Hillary Clinton and were frequent guests at White House state dinners.

Prosecutors say Mezvinsky used his connections to the Clintons and his son's social relationship with Chelsea to persuade people to give him money to participate in the scams.

Mezvinsky traveled to Nigeria numerous times and ultimately lost more than $3 million as a victim of the scammers.

Prosecutors say Mezvinsky fell particularly hard for what is known as the "black money" scam.  Victims are told millions of dollars have been coated with black ink so the money could be smuggled out of Nigeria.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2006/12/father_of_chels.html

The scammers then offer to sell a special, expensive chemical to remove the black ink so the currency can be used.

Prosecutors say Mezvinsky fell for at least three separate "black money" schemes that he thought would bring him millions.

Mezvinsky declined requests sent to him in prison to speak with ABC.

--------------

But consider that the unsaid details are extremely interesting:

Both mom and dad were Congressmen, from different states!!!

Prosecutors say EVERY deal step-dad ever did since 1980 had fraud within it.

$10,000,000 stolen !!!

So, who is paying for this wedding and what money is being used?

Step-dad’s fine was “only” $3,000,000” so clear net profit is $7,000,000.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I wonder, I wonder,

Bill, Hillary, step-dad, bernie madoff, I guess this is how people have $5,000,000 weddings in modern America.

All bow down to our new rulers!

Or perhaps the money came from the “hedge fund” where C works and for which she went to bat in Congress for (and where she got laughed at for trying it).

Has she fallen down drunk lately?

Ordered any more $25,000 bottles of wine lately???

BTW

Do you KNOW anyone who drinks $25,000 bottles of wine or has $5,000,000 weddings?

I don’t.

As two conditions of the wedding. as sometimes happens between parents of ‘the intended party’, I propose these might have been negotiated:
1. Always, in the presence of Big Bill, simply call the groom “Ed”, the similar phonetics might be, in 0bamaspeak, “troubling”;
2. If not “in the consumation of the rite”, for once and always, have a (ahem) “banner hanging by the marital grove to disguise the dear bride’s changing heightened countenance”.

Maybe this is part of their attraction to each other. Both have lousy families, it could be something to start their friendship and intimacy.

“You know what MY dad did????”

“Yeah, well how about THIS from mine...???”

It should also be noted that Mezvinsky was a Democrat Congresscritter (IA-01, 1973-1977).
