My soul felt pretty good after I shot a 78 yesterday...no roids and no girls needed.

No bogeys, 4 doubles on the backside, to birds on the front and finished with 2 birds.

Yes, this is not a par 72..only one par 5 on back side.

Hit a 4 iron to 6 feet on the 18.

....oh, and it was 3 straight doubles after the double shot of scotch on an empty stomach...took 45 minutes to clear it out of my system.

Nice job. Tiger imploded again today. He is 11 over after 3 rounds and essentially in last place.

On the first day the PGA was still pimping him with “shot of the day” on their web site where he hit a 7 iron to within 7 feet of the green.

I did the same thing last week from about 135 yards with a 7 iron and I suck. It was not a shot of the day. Just the PGA trying to prop him up.

Uh...I don’t think that is a good thing for your stomach or golf game. Ouch!

Is it possible that the same thing that happened to Steve Blass could happen to Tiger Woods. Does that happen to golfers.

Yes it does. The prime example is David Duval. He was number 1 as Tiger was coming up. Probably Tiger would not have been able to beat him. He fell totally apart. Still trying to rebuild his game. Plays well then falls back. Daly was probably better then Tiger but wine, women, gambling, food and song destroyed him.

Duval would be a perfect Steve Blass example. Nick Faldo to some extent and Ian Baker Finch to some extent though maybe injuries were reponsible - he won the British Open and a few others.

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/golf/baker-finch-gagged-about-commenting-on-tiger/story-e6frey60-1225810306181

Ian was told if he said anything else even slightly bad about Tiger on CBS - he would be fired.

Tiger’s other problem is age and putting. Putting usually goes first because of the hands. He is only 34 but it can go early.

Phil Mickelson is 40 but his fitness and playing seem to be improving due to hard work. The word was Thursday or Friday Tiger rushed to his SUV with no practice. Phil finished late in the day and was off to the practice range to work on things. Tiger used to be a workaholic.

Mickelson’s iron play and short it wedge irons are probably the best in the game. The wedges require “touch” like the putter. Tiger was a great putter but if he loses that - he is over.

Golf is very much a you can lose it overnight sport. It is incredibly competitive, the young kids are amazing and it is produce or die. It requires physical, timing and tempo on the swing, great “touch” or feel and mentally it is very very hard.

Tiger may be imploding like Blass or how David Duval imploded.

More on Duval who is actually making progress. I think his family is more important to him.

Tiger imploded again today. He either has totally fallen apart or it is some sympathy come back scam. Poor Phil was in contention but he is having a lousy day too.

The youngsters like Mahan and Sean O’Hair are tearing it up today.

Tiger would be a joke pick for the Ryder Cup. Someone said - see how he does next week. The course next week has about 970 or so bunkers!

I still maintain since the PGA began testing for steroids and PEDs after he won USOpen at Torrey Pines-San Diego, “le tigre” has been declining in performance and his previously bulked up body. The news of his Canadian doc who was helping him rehab after that USOpen being busted for steroids have certainly been hushed.

Not to diminish the after effects of his whoring, but the lack of PEDs have negatively affected him.

Tiger’s deal with the Devil for Golf Supremacy apparently ended just seconds before his car hit that tree months ago....

I tend to agree. I think the testing for PEDs by the PGA a week after he took off for knee surgery and recovery for 10 months was - odd.

The doctor in Canada story flaring up probably meant he could not go back to get juiced up.

I also bet that Elin knew something which may divorce negotiations easier and the pre-nup became a non-issue.

Rachel Uchitel supposedly got $10 million not $1 million. She has been told supposedly by his lawyers to not mention his name recently.

I bet Elin knows about the PEDs. I wonder if her friend and golfer Jasper Parnevik knows.

Good to see TiHgHer at the bottom. Unfortunately, the media is starting to throw the sympathy card at golf’s Wilt Chamberlain/Barry Bonds mix. I have no sympathy and even less for the PGA for deceiving us for the last 13 years.

I totally agree. The lib media is pulling out a poor Tiger the victim and also “Phil Choked” cause they hate Phil.

I would not be suprised if this was staged/setup. He has been playing lousy but this was really lousy.

I no longer have TV cause of the endless propaganda. I watched the leaderboard ticker, looked at stats and saw a few web highlights. Hunter Mahan played great and shot a 64. The driving distance averages for Mahan are wild. He hits it about 290 to 300 yards. Tiger is averaging 290 now which is nothing great. Phil is around 310.

http://www.pgatour.com/players/02/47/81/scorecards/2010/r476.html

Mahan on Th, Fr, Sat and Sun
289.5 279.5 310.5 343.0

I thought a 343 yards average on Sunday has to be a typo but that is the PGA numbers.

Mahan is 28 years old versus Tiger’s 34. I think the world and game have passed Tiger by. 290 yards off the tee average is nothing special now.

The young guys are just too good anymore and they are getting better. Hunter Mahan is a So Cal surfer type who lives in Plano, TX now.

He was one of the first golfers to publicly say after Tiger’s crack up that “no one is afraid of him anymore” meaning the golfers.

Income taxes are somewhat lower in Texas and Plano is a short drive to DFW where he can get to just about any tournament city in about three hours.

Yup. Taxes are much lower than Calif plus central location for travel near DFW.

A lot of good golfers also came from Texas too. Byron Nelson and possibly the greatest ever - Ben Hogan.

Tiger, Jack or whomever can get in a head on collision with a Greyhound bus in the late 1940s, dive in front of your wife at the last second to save her. This pretty much broke Hogan’s back and the rest of his body. 1940/50s car safety and medical technology were not that great.

Ben won major tournaments after his body was destroyed. There will never be another Ben Hogan.

Frantzie, I have to say that Wilt Bonds driving numbers are down because he had to hit more hybrid/fairway woods off the tee this week. He had to this week as Firestone demands accuracy off the tee. Even with the reduced clubs, TiHgHger was not finding the fairway. He is only slightly shorter than his career big numbers when he breaks out the big stick. He can still boom it.

The PGA created these long, tight courses with thick rough for Cheetah, but what it did was create a crop of young guys who could challenge and beat him in length and accuracy. Plus, they probably sleep more hours during the night.

Golf is one of the few sports I enjoy watching as it is an individual challenge. As boring as it is to some, I enjoy watching the back nine on any given Sunday; who will choke, who will hit the big shot, and who will just be the victim of bad luck. The PGA ruined that for me with cramming TiHgHer down our throats using questionable means. The trust factor is just not there and I would not be surprised if Woods re-emerges when they decide the time is right.

Commish says Tiger’s passed two drug tests since then, what about before that?

Tim Finchem of the PGA? Somehow I do not believe him. The PGA fawns over tiger - he is their golden goose. I wonder what dates they tested him? they supposedly started a week after he stopped playing for 10 months due to the knee.

It sure seems like the drug enhancers are wearing off.

I think he is off the juice now. The massive forearms are not so massive. No huge muscles to control the club - so shots are spraying all over the place now.

The bigger problem is younger players are better, stronger and longer. I cancelled TV a year ago but Hunter Mahan who is 6 years younger than Tiger played very well this weekend. He is a cool customer and was pounding his drives on Sunday if the PGA stats are correct. I think it is his second win of the year.

When Phil is on - he can be hard to beat but the youth brigade will be the problem for Tiger. I think the only way he gets back to being competitive is getting back on the juice.

I think you are right. So he was hitting hybrids and 5 woods off the tee? He is still spraying his shots everywhere. Almost impossible for any player on teh tour.

I think the juice gave him massive forearms. Without the arms (being off the juice) - he cannot control his shots.

The specs said Cheetah driving accuarcy for the 4 days was 39.3%. Day one and two averaged 28.5% which is abysmal.

Believe me - the PGA and Tim Finchem will do anything to put humpty dumpty back on the wall.

I was looking at the PGA specs and it said Mahan’s Sunday drives were averaging 343 yards? His average for the 4 rounds was 307 yards.

One of the guys on GolfWrx said he worked at a tourney and said the distances, especially Phil is huge. He said he saw Phil him a 3 iron 275 yards, Dustin Johnson a 5 wood 300 yards and Adam Scott a 3 wood 300 yards.

These are the guys that "TiHgHer Proofing" the course gave rise to. Woods was only one of a couple of guys that could launch the ball 330 yards and hit it our of the thick rough like it was nothing.....hence 75 victories and 14 majors thanks to the tailor made courses. Now there is a new breed to challenge him.

I remember Charles Barkley claiming that Tiger Proofing the course was racist because the PGA was trying to prevent him from winning. In fact, just the opposite was occuring. The PGA was eliminating 95% of the field from having a chance to win so our PED poster child could be viewed holding a trophy every week.

If the decline continues, maybe a reporter witha set of huevos will launch the first salvo at the PGA.
