ahahaha

I think it may be because he refuses to eat any “mouse” food from the pet store - he doesn't like cheese - etc.

I feed him pretty much what he might find on his own - and his favorites are greens - especially dandelions, clover, spinach and bronze lettuce - and radish tops.

His favorite of all is salted pumpkin seeds...and he likes walnuts and cashews and raw peanuts in the shell.
And he doesn't like American cereals - but I brought back some from Canada, which he likes. (Canada's foods are much healthier)

He loves teasing the cat - who will still try to get through the glass - while he sits there and laughs.

He's the longest living mouse I've ever known - and with five kids and 15 grandkids - there's been more than a few...

We (well my wife, actually) have a bird.

The bird eats, among other things like filet mignon and strawberry sorbet, meal worms from the pet store.

Every time they get a new cashier, I go in to buy dog food and meal worms. I always ask the cashier “What do I do if my bird isn’t all that hungry? Do you have any snack worms, in case he doesn’t want a full meal?”

The dullards never get it.

Whatever you do, don't ever feed him pet store food. We had a mouse who had been my son's pet for several years. Then for some reason we gave him some kind of seed cake from the pet store. Within a week he was dead. Our cat almost died of kidney failure after a diet of expensive food recommended by the vet. We returned to Purina and Fancy Feast and she lived another eight years, although her kidneys had been permanently damaged.

I do believe you’re catching the spirit - Zeitgeist if you will - of this evening.
