Some Internet friends of mine have said that tats and piercings can be addictive, and of course that can lead to their being overdone by some people.
One gal said that she was trying to quit, and she couldn’t walk by a tattoo parlor because the sound of the needle was too tempting.
That is a very interesting datum. I wonder what the appeal is - masochism? Endorphins released by the pain? Exhibitionism alone seems an insufficient explanation.
Maybe they could rehabilitate by going to an accupuncturist instead ;)
