Portia de Rossi wants to become a DeGeneres.
The actress filed papers to change her surname to match that of her wife, Ellen DeGeneres, at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday — a day after a California federal judge overturned Proposition 8, according to E! Online.

Actually you probably didn’t. Isabella Rossellini was doing the odd animal mating films but don’t ask me why. Daughter of Ingrid Bergman, and not even a lesbian. Like her better now? Isabella, that is.

Since Ally McBeal, Portia had starring roles in two of the finest comedies to run on American television. Arrested Development for three seasons, and Better Off Ted for two more seasons. Neither of these shows was aimed at the lowest common denominator so many don’t know them. If you missed these shows, that’s your loss. She seems to have a very good eye for quality roles.

I cancelled my cable subscription over 5 yeras ago, and even when I had cable I didn't have the specialty channels like HBO or Showtime. There aren't enough quality programs of any kind to justify the expense. I watch netflix, blockbuster and occasionally hulu to get my TV fix. Fewer commericals that way.
They both look a bit ... queer.

So, do you think Ellen would dump her for a sexier model when Portia is a bit more ... well ... old? After all, this could be the equivalent of a trophy wife. She has no fame for accomplishing anything more than looking good. Ellen has all the money and businesses; Portia is the trophy wife.

Er, like a *guy* would, not a “gut” would. But I suppose even a guy with a gut in Ellen’s situation could dump an aging actress for This Year’s Model in 10 years.
