Kirk is tied, Quinn up by 13. Guess that goes to show that you have to be a pro-abortion liberal to get elected in Illinois. (/sarc)

We don’t want Brady’s victory to pull that lying Socialist Combiner scum Kirk across to a win.

Like Fieldmarshaldj, I prefer Randy Stufflebeam over the two sleazy socialist candidates. Do you think Kirk is better than the other socialist? Can you think of a major issue where he would govern differently? (and Kirk claiming to be for something when his voting record shows otherwise doesn't count)

A couple of "Oberweis wuz robbed in '06!!!" freepers have announced on the Illinois state boards that they won't vote for Brady under any circumstances. If they want to stay home and sulk that the most conservative nominee we've had in 50 years isn't good enough, fine by me. Bill Brady doesn't need to grovel before them and legitimize their looney conspircy theories that Topinka recruited him to split the conservative vote and sabotage Oberweis' chances. Brady's been ahead by double digits since he won the nomination (so much for "conservatives can't win" Illinois)

But the anti-Brady conservatives show there really ARE purists out there who won't support candidates who agree with them 90% of the time. Unfortunately, those of us who oppose left-wing socialist Mark Kirk for legitimate reasons get lumped in the purist loons.

Seems there's a large segment of ignorant voters out there.

Unfortunately Randy Stufflebeam winning is less likely than monekeys flying out of my butt. But, hey you want to act the Don Quixote, more power to ya.

>> Kirk is tied, Quinn up by 13. Guess that goes to show that you have to be a pro-abortion liberal to get elected in Illinois. <<

Indeed. And look at the track record here in Illinois: Lynn Martin, Rich Williamson, Judy Baar Topinka, Steve Sauerberg... those "moderates" are just sooooo much more electable in "blue states" than the scary conservatives.

We're dooooomed if we nominate unapologetic conservatives like Peter Fitzgerald and Bill Brady!!!!!! The ONLY way to win is to nominate a centrist pro-abortion moderate woman from the suburbs for statewide office. Why, one of them will be elected Senator or Governor any day now. After 30 years of claiming this, it's bound to happen to eventually, right?

But hey, Alan Keyes lost and he's conservative. At least there's indisputable proof conservatives can't win in Illinois. The fact he was an 11th hour replacement candidate from Maryland running against the media's designated messiah had nothing to do with his loss, obviously.

Unfortunately Mark Kirk being the key vote to stop Obama’s marxist schemes is less likely than monekeys flying out of my butt. But, hey you want to elect Jim Jeffords Jr., more power to ya. Can’t say I didn’t warn you.

You said, “Quinn up by 13.” The poll states that Brady is ahead by 13%.

I might vote for Stufflebeam, although I don’t expect him to win. If he gets at least 5% of the vote, he’ll help many Illinois conservatives, during the next four years. The Constitution Party would have the same low petition signature requirements as the republican and democrat parties. This would cause some republican elected officials to become more conservative, since they’ll want to ensure that they won’t have a Constitution Party opponent, in the general election.

For the record, Alan Keyes lost by running on a platform of slavery reparations. A man I formerly greatly admired turned into a joke and a laughingstock.

Peter Fitzgerald was an interesting case study, by the way. He ran as a solid conservative. Maverick, but very conservative. Someone whom you might today call a tea partier. On being elected, he became a waterboy for the Left. You might call him the Scott Brown of the ‘90s.

He lost badly when he came up for re-election.
