I worked for a woman at a big software company. She was terrible. She dated one of they guys workin for her. I was once joking around with the guy she was dating and she reprimanded me for doing so.

I left the company and later found out that the guy she was dating took her to court for sexual harrassment.

I definitely prefer a male boss and have been lucky to report directly to male bosses during my career.

Best job I ever had—went to the final interview with a male and female HR manager and they asked what would be my ideal work environment. Without missing a beat, I said that I could work in most environments as long as I had a male boss. The man smiled, the woman shot death rays.

I got the job and was the ONLY female on the project team (it was heaven on earth). I LOVED my guys so much. When the global managing director (my boss) and his 3 regional directors took positions at another company, I went with them. Between the two companies, we worked together for just over 14 years. He made sure the company was always aware of things I did-and that I was acknowledged and compensated.

As a child, I spent a lot of time with my dad. He called me his buddy. I grew up listening to him and other men talk about life and learned to appreciate the honesty and direct way of speaking. I LOVE men that aren’t afraid to take control and get things done. THANKS FOR THE EXAMPLE DAD!! I miss you!

(Yes, most of my friends are men)

100% agree. Did that once, never again.

Anecdotally, I’m a woman who agrees wholeheartedly. At my last job I worked for two women and it was nothing but mind games, mixed messages, and bullying. On any given day you didn’t know if they were going to be fakely sweet or total bitches. Now I work for two men and it couldn’t be more different. It’s such a pleasure to go to the office and know all I need to do is work my butt off, not worry about what time of the month everyone is on.

I’m with you 100%! I grew up with a dad, three brothers, and an un-girly mom. Most women try my patience despite the little detail of my being one. Now I work with a team of three men, and my life has never been so productive and drama-free. It’s great!

I have had several good female managers. My only complaint would be the occasional lack of direct communication. In other words, “What do you think about doing this?” instead of “Please do this.”

Amen! I got tired of that, and set one straight about it, ending with, 'if you won't like the answer, DON'T ASK!Bosses BOSS; your job is to politely, but clearly order, not equivocally request.' Things vastly improved, and she thanked me when she was promoted.

I would prefer to work for a person of faith. I have worked for atheists and sorry, but they do have less conscience.

My experience is that women will harp on the tiniest thing, which really doesn’t matter, while men will look at the big picture, and harp only if there is a really serious matter.

You posted what I’ve observed in the office. I felt so bad for the people who reported to such unprofessional females.
