This is just from me.... It should make you realize that America is not so bad, yet.

In my travels today, which is in London, I am embarked upon a men taking a wiz in public on a street corner. He literately whip " it" out in public and was peeing. You can see their junk in public! I should not of been looking, I know. I was just shocked and the smell was of that of a bum.

You see, there are public street urinals for men. Next thing you know you will see a circle of toliets and woman peeing and texting on the bowl on a street corner. Sexy.....

They rely on people being discreet in using them and those who might be offended doing the right thing and not looking. Any offence taken is largely self inflicted.

Are they a good idea? I don't like them - but they've had them in some other parts of Europe for decades.

I assumed it was a serious thread - albeit one posted by somebody whose Freepername raises eyebrows when connected with this topic. It's a valid observation if you assume it says something about the culture of city's outside the US.

The thing is, these things are portable and put out on Fridays in areas of London that will be busy over the weekend due to people who go out clubbing, dancing and drinking. They are really primarily intended to give people who've drunk too much somewhere besides a wall (or in a few notable recent cases, a war memorial!) to urinate against on their way home - which is far more likely to cause offence.

People know what they are and know not to look if it's going to offend them. It's safer too in many ways - people are in sight.
