Colin Powell's endorsement of Barack Obama will live... in infamy

Has anyone heard from Colin Powell lately? Since Barack Obama became president, there has been silence from Colin Powell about a man he described as having "great insight into the challenges we're facing of a military and political and economic nature." When can we expect Powell to show the courage to admit his mistake, his blunder, his betrayal?

Just weeks before the 2008 presidential election, Powell went on television to attack John McCain and the Republican Party. He then, in his wisdom, endorsed Barack Obama:

I’m glad to see this question raised.

GEN Powell, where are you?

Where is he indeed?
Will he betray his race in admitting his mistake?
Or will he betray his country?

Powell was as much credit to his service record as Benedict Arnold was. Both sold out at a crucial time and both went down in ignominy. Yes, Powell damaged the US as much or even more than Arnold did.

There is, or could be, a bright side to this. It might just be a political career ender for him. Its rather difficult to understand exactly what he brought to the table in the first place but thats another discussion.

Al Gore could become world’s first carbon billionaire

Last year Mr Gore’s venture capital firm loaned a small California firm $75m to develop energy-saving technology.

The company, Silver Spring Networks, produces hardware and software to make the electricity grid more efficient.

The deal appeared to pay off in a big way last week, when the Energy Department announced $3.4 billion in smart grid grants, the New York Times reports. Of the total, more than $560 million went to utilities with which Silver Spring has contracts.

The move means that venture capital company Kleiner Perkins and its partners, including Mr Gore, could recoup their investment many times over in coming years.

colin's son is on the government nipple and so the ruling class has given the princess's family some money and security. They are now beholden to the democrat/RINO/bureaucrat class that runs washington.

If only Hurricane Earl would zero in on DC and blow all the turds into the ocean, I'd be a happy camper.

Has anyone heard from Colin Powell lately?

This is the first time I have even encountered his name in a long time. I hope he is properly ashamed. I hope he understands why he should be ashamed and aghast.

Powell is a nice looking, intelligent, mostly-white black man. He advanced through the military on those credentials. He was a wonderful token. He has done a good job of keeping his politics to himself and himself out of the spotlight. His support of Obama is understandable since both are of mixed race, but he has now exposed himself as not so bright after all. I expect that he has retreated back to the shadows.

The same thing Biden said Obama brought to the table. He is clean and well spoken. After that the search is on.

In every war, there are war profiteers.

In the faux War Against Global Warming, there are Gore profiteers.

Looks like sly-boots Colon Powell is one. Just another reason he's laying low.

Good thing he's not running the no-win, politically-correct war in Afghanistan.......although he might as well be, now that I think of it.

Of course it is! That is the central point. The other is just the necessary costume to dress the pig.

"Since Barack Obama became president, there been silence from Colin Powell"

I don't know how you can say that. Powell and Cheney had two major TV battles in 2009 over Gitmo and Afghanistan. Cheney criticizing Obama and Powell supporting Obama. Powell won both battles.

It is a continuance of the war between Powell/Realists and Cheney/NeoCons that has been going on since before the Iraq invasion.

Powell may have given his vote to Obama, but all of the Republican Realists have been supporting Obama.
