to do the right thing,
to show the way,
to shine the light of God in the world.
to be the image of Christ in the world.
to spread the Gospel.

all in Jesus name, amen

Ephesians 1:10 tells us to bring all things in heaven and on earth under one head, Christ. I don't see politics being excluded. Wouldn't government be so much better if it were run by godly people?

I always smile when I hear liberals preaching how Jesus is all about love - forgetting that Jesus is also about justice! Here is a mosaic entitled "Christ in Majesty" and it depicts The Lord at his second coming. I don't see a lot of liberal wishy-washy, kumbaya let's-all-go-along-to-get-along in His eyes there, bucko...

but I hope that ministers tell us the truth and not what our “itching ears want to hear.”

You assume there is some 'truth' that they know, and you don't?

Of course, we 'know' the truth, but it sometimes takes someone else saying it to us, for us to accept it. I find that odd.

I was just about to post something along the same lines. I recently heard this perspective on the “Give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and unto God what is God’s”. The Bible teaches that everything in the earth is God’s, therefore nothing really *belongs* to Caesar.

If you think about it, Jesus’ answer was brilliant.

But at any rate, it just hurts my feelings and I think I’m being picked on LOL....hahahah This is only my 1st or 2nd vanity and I forgot to put “vanity” in the headline...

Been here 5 years....so I’m not a troll and I post comments all the time....

Thank you for the info :0)

The Sanhedrin felt that he was threat to their authority and took the issue to the Romans (who didn’t want any part of it...)

True. The Jews were responsible for having Jesus crucified. Which is a good thing, because there wouldn't be a NEW TESTAMENT if they hadn't.

These people are trying to disarm you to tilt the playing field to their side. Consider it a compliment....and consider removing people like this from your life. They are liabilities, not assets.

Well, for a vanity, your thread seems to be growing pretty quickly, and is producing some good comments.

You should be proud.

To answer your original question,

If you , as a Christian, want to go into politics, do so.

If no Christians try to enter politics, politicians will all be non-Christians. It’s already trending that way, and look what has happened to our nation.

One CANDLE can light an entire room full of darkness.

I haven't been in on a good Zot'ing in a long time.

So I usually check out the daily 'War Porn' thread and feel much better after seeing a bunch of terrorist blown to bits.

Have a great day Mum.

Try this one:

"Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.

2Therefore he who resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.

3For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same;

4for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath upon the one who practices evil," (Rom. 13:1-4).

I really don’t know what your point was exactly. It would be my hope that all true ministers of the Christian gospel would tell us the truth and not just the stuff we want to hear. Obviously, I know that not all churches teach or preach the hard sayings - that God is not just a God of love but a God of holiness. That there is both Law AND Gospel. You can’t have Gospel only but you can’t have Law only preached either.

So, if you want to clarify, please do.

There are several examples of Jesus offering harsh rebuke to people in the Bible. Perhaps the passage whereby he overturns tables in the Temple square and shouts at merchants that they should not be selling things in his Father’s house is the most dramatic. In another passage, he harshly says to an apostle, “Go away, Satan!” just because the apostle makes a naive statement. (I’m no scholar and am paraphrasing the above, sorry.)

So it is not true that Jesus was some kind of wishy washy “let’s all just get along” kind of guy. When people were committing acts of sin or were erroneous in their thinking, he called them on the carpet and he did not mince words!
