Check out Fring. It'll run on just about any platform out there - Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Symbian. Allows you to use any VOIP gateway (including Skype) for making and receiving phone calls.

I have a dedicated VOIP number in Thailand (for friends and business associates to use), that you can call from any phone in Thailand - local call. Then it rings my device (whichever I'm on - my Windows laptop, my HTC Touch Pro2 phone, or my Android tablet) to pick up.

Also have Skype numbers in Germany, Chile, Hong Kong, and the US. And I can call out to those countries through Fring a very low rates as well...

See if you have an IP PBX at work. If you do then all you usually need is a user or SIP license and they can build you an extension. Then you’re on the company PBX.
