Dave Keene: Democrats in Free Fall, Fighting Each Other
Newsmax ^ | 10/1/2010 | Ronald Kessler

Democrats are in for ugly blowback once they realize how soundly they are defeated in November, Dave Keene, chairman of the American Conservative Union, tells Newsmax.

Already, because of a belief they will lose, the Democratic leadership has gone into “triage mode” by deciding to cut off support for 30 members of Congress seeking re-election, Keene says.

“Once that happens to those members, it’s no longer the Republicans’ fault, it's no longer the tsunami that is approaching, it’s their leaders who have sold them out, and you can see the results already,” Keene says. “On the Hill, they are fighting with each other. It’s like they have been told by the guys on the Titanic that they should stand there and listen to the orchestra and go down like men.”

Members are saying, “Wait a minute,” Keene says. “You guys who control the life boat are the guys who sunk the ship, and so we want off. So you got this big fight going on, and it means that as the session draws to an end, chaos is the main feature of what's going on on the Hill.”

When the lame duck session starts, “They’re going to have 40 or 50 resentful Democrats in the House who have lost their seats,” Keene says. “The administration will say now what you guys need to do, even though you have lost, is pass our measures. But these are guys who are coming back will be saying, wait a minute — you lost us our seats. The party discipline is gone.”

The American Conservative Union, with 1 million members, runs the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington through its foundation and publishes an annual “Rating of Congress,” the gold standard for assessing the ideology of members of Congress.

It’s dirty alright. You don’t go from being a community organizer to POTUS in a few short years without doing lots and lots of dirty deeds.

There is two ways that this could go.

1) these losers give the voters the stink eye and pass the WH proposals.

2) these losers say screw you to the leadership and don’t.

I'm still trying to figure out how he "cheated" in order to beat Hillary.

I think it's the absentee ballots...and stuff going on "after hours"..in the back rooms.

Once Republicans regain power, they must avoid overreaching, as happened when Newt Gingrich was speaker and when Obama entered the White House, Keene says.

As long as they don't allow the friggin' enemy to make that determination, things should go fine.

Maybe a great deal more than that!

I am curious how this will work. They foolishly voted for measures they knew their voters hated. They believed they’d survive those votes. What is the leadership going to be able to offer them once they have lost those seats? A committed leftist would gladly relinquish the seat for the greater “good”. They’d vote for the agenda win or with a loss. A politician puts themselves before party or cause and is not above screwing over the leaders that sacrificed their political career. You then have the Democrats not up for re-election this year that watched people they thought would win go on to lose. Do they continue to put their heads in the sand and assume things will be better two years from now. Do they tack to the right and hope two years can repair the damage. Do they assume all is lost no matter what they do and do what is in their own interest.

“David Keene is a crook. Period. ACU and NRA are frauds.”

Very true. Sarah Palin skipping CPAC for the National Tea Party Convention was a very wise move.

“I’m still trying to figure out how he “cheated” in order to beat Hillary.”

You really want to know? It happened on May 31, 2008.

The DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee met and heard arguments from Hillary and Obama’s side.

They decided to take 600,000 Michigan votes and just give them to Obama even though his name did not appear on the Michigan ballot.

If you’re interested in a refreshing and enjoyable moment at the democratic party’s expense—just watch Harold Ickes warn DNC leaders on youtube, it’s a thing of beauty. Watch it all, because YOU. WILL. LOVE. IT:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um5QHGxmoBE

The DNC party leaders that voted for this solution figured that if the election had taken place according to their rules, 600,000 of Hillary’s voters would have actually voted for Obama had his name been on the ballot. They couldn’t be sure because Obama voluntarily took his name off that ballot. But yet, they were certain enough that they could just redecide for 600,000 voters. These are people who left their homes, went to the polls, and freely cast their vote for Hillary Clinton.

I ask you, if some politician just gave your vote away and put it in Obama’s column, how would you feel? How would you feel if by your going to polls to vote, some crooked political party forced you to give your vote to Obama????

I would have died if I knew my vote was given to him. Obama literally paid a lawyer to go in and argue to NOT COUNT any votes from Michigan and Florida. He didn’t want any of those voters to have any say in the nomination.

As horrible as that sounds, stupid obots still voted for the pig in the general election. You’d think it would have been a huge red flag. It wasn’t.

Couple that situation with the caucus fraud and the party is forever divided.

At the country club last night we saw a bumper sticker that said “Is this the Change you were Hoping for?” The O in hope was the Obama symbol.
We live in a safe democrat district and that is the first anti-obama sticker I have seen. Hoping we see many more in the days to come!

“They’re going to have 40 or 50 resentful Democrats in the House who have lost their seats,”

Well those resentful Democrats should have had the guts to stand against obama and cast their votes on principal and what their constituents wanted but they chose not to.
