My FRiend has a 4X4 Tea-ota the same color and it has almost 200,000 miles on it. There are many here behind the Redwood Curtain with 400K on the odometer. My FRiend and his wife compete in dog agility trials within a 300 mile radius of Eureka and this weekend she beat some of the best dogs and pro handlers in the US with her Australian Shepherd. The Toys, especially that vintage and earlier, have a couple of issues with frame rust, but otherwise seem to last forever. And, Toyota will replace the frame under warranty. I'm told they are just getting broken in at 100K. Unfortunately, mine is just broken.
Pshaw about your friend and her dog. The dog is an AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD! They are scary smart and super fast. The Goldens (like mine) just turn around and go home when an Aussie shows up to run.
