The live coverage is because there are 33 separate rescues. Each with as much potential for problems (disaster) as the first. Each trip of the capsule has its own dangers. So they will cover until they are all out including the rescue workers.
The problem is the accessories, docs talking about PTSD, etc. And bit too much talking form the anchors.
Actually it's very appropriate as it puts to rest a lot of questions such as why they sent individuals down before they started extraction, why they were given oxygen masks, why they were put into compression suits, etc.......
It's apparent to me that this was an incredibly thought out rescue operation complete with the neat sunglasses..........and the freshly shaven faces and haircuts of the survivors.
