Should Legal Noncitizens Have the Right to Vote?

Yes -- If they pay taxes and can serve in the military, it's only fair that they also be allowed to vote on local issues.

Yes, but... -- Only in state and local elections. The right to vote in a national election should be reserved for citizens of the United States of America.

No -- Voting is a citizen's right. If they want it, then let them first become citizens.

Undecided

The fact that this question is even being asked is a dark day for this nation.

Only citizens have the right to vote... any other opinion or outcome and this entire experiment is moot.

Of course not. Here’s another thing: my CA ballot is in English and Spanish. It’s actually hard for me to make out the English part. American ballots should be for literate English speaking citizens only.

Amen! Anyone living here is free to speak any language without the government forcing another one on them. But the government is free to speak English without anyone forcing another one on them.

Should Legal Noncitizens Have the Right to Vote?

The right to vote is the primary difference between a citizen and a non-citizen.

I think the Rebels that died at Camp Douglas in the War of Northern Aggression are still voting in Chicago.
