So much to choose from but for the effect it has on our future I'd start with the Department of Education. But, you couldn't swing a dead cat in DC these days and not hit a useless bureaucracy.

TWO - education and energy. Both have been miserable failures.

Would a GOP Congress even vote to eliminate a federal agency? I doubt it.

I would choose Dept. of Education.

I prefer to reverse the question. Keep DOD. And DOJ. Post Office you gotta keep, per the Constitution. Other than that? Not many.

Education, first, and quickly...
Next would be Agriculture, including all subsidies at the Federal level.
Right after that...Energy, and then HHS.

And, in the second week...National Endowment for the Arts, subsidies to public broadcasting, then revamp Homeland Security to bolster the Border Patrol and secure the borders, all of them.

I’m baffled that anyone thinks anything will change after November 2010. Possibly after November 2012 but gridlock is the best to hope for until then..

The EPA got a 20% increase in their budget. I would put everything the EPA has done on hold until all of their regulations are justified under the DATA QUALITY ACT.

Surely you do not believe that, if the Republicans have majorities in both Houses of Congress, that they will eliminate ANY Federal agencies or departments.

You don't believe that, do you?
