Interesting, I noticed the same thing at my polling place in Alabama.

Drove up, many cars; thought, "There must be long lines", inside, no lines...Strange.

I was voting this morning at 8:30 a.m. and asked the judge there if they’d been busy this morning (all the voting machines were in use, so I was just making conversation). He smiled, looked at his log, and said: “You’re number (such and such) and that’s more than we usually get all day. When I left, there were people waiting in line for my machine, and the parking lot was being entered by other vehicles. When I passed the place as I came home for lunch, the parking lot there was full of vehicles, with more coming.
I’m very hopeful that the turnout will be unprecedented, and overwhelming!!!
