I haven’t vetted him in any useful sense of the word. That’s just my sense from reading his stuff and seeing who else refers to him.
I guess I’m an inveterate puzzle-piece collector.
I put most things on the shelf and wait to see what falls off.
When I already know a lot in a direction and/or there’s a lot of other puzzle pieces which seem to indicate similar things—I pay more notice.
When that sort of thing occurs and I have a stronger sense in my gut about something, I pay more attention.
I’m wrong plenty. I’m also blind-sided less than a lot of folks I know.
