For more Syrian/Anatolian stuff (not quite as old), here’s a nice page:

The timeline at that site says "Pre-pottery neolithic, 10,000-7,000 B.C." and yet the article we are discussing in this thread is talking about finds from 10,000 B.C. and you show what appears to be a pottery vessel in your post.

Is this a conflict, or am I missing something (which would not be unusual where archaeology is concerned)?

The one shown must be Aceramic (also called Preceramic), iow, clayware (in the Nile Delta, they had "siltware", it's very fine work in that case, and predynastic in date); the ceramic era began about 8000 years ago, 6000 BC. Stuff older than that has been found, deliberately baked, but oddly enough, those were ceremonial items (including a few thousand all in one spot in a site in Europe). From a James Mellaart title (published in 1965) a photo of a plate, presumably used to serve or eat food, not too bad lookin', and in good condition for 7000 years old.
