You mean other than the fact that Boise State won their last BCS bowl?

Its the Texas Horned Lizard, and they are now endangered due to fire ants. they were popular pets when i was a kid, but now its illegal to own one. they were called horny toads, mostly. One of their defense mechanisms is to shoot blood out of their eyes.

BSU and TCU may be every bit as good as you say, they just don’t go out and prove it every week.

In 2009, BSU beat eventual Pac 10 champion Oregon

In 2006, BSU beat Big XII champion Oklahoma

This season, BSU beat probable ACC champion Virginia Tech

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/501788-boise-state-football-why-does-most-of-the-country-want-to-see-the-broncos-fail

"I've said this before and I'll say it again, put money aside, call up the best schools in the country, and get the games done. But here's the problem with that line of thinking. The likes of Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Auburn, Florida and every BCS team that isn't in the Pac-10 won't schedule Boise State."

"Why? Because they'd rather pay San Jose State, the worst the WAC has to offer, a hefty sum of money for an easy win than pay any amount to bring Boise State in for a real challenge."

Your sparrows haven’t gotten past the Elephant yet, son. What used to be the Iron Bowl is a major factor in this year’s BCS standings. Auburn has too many signifyin’ monkeys takin’ cheap shots. Don’t defend that crap.

Schedule Strength of 4 unbeaten teams, ranked #1, #65, #74 and #77 (out of 120 teams). Hmmmm......

You are correcto mundo...

I’d like to see Boise State play someone ranked in the top four or play Alabama. I think Alabama is going to beat Auburn. South Corlina probably will too.

“The sec is the ninth division of the NFL”

Tell you what, you name the NFL team and the SEC team. I’ll take the NFL team and spot you 3 touchdowns as many times as you like. I’ll die a rich man. Of course it’ll never happen, just like the SEC will never play a strong non-BCS team.

Nobody wants to play Boise State. I don’t think they’re avoiding anyone.

When you look at their schedule over the past two years, they been very impressive.

But it’s something else. Watch them play.

I think they’d in the upper ranks of any division they’d play. Perhaps not undefeated. Alabama had an exceptional team last year. I think the team got cocky and lazy. Still I look for them to end the year with wins and back in the top four as Oregon and TCU will lose.

You need to be objective.

It was a rough stiff arm, and the ref spoke to him about it, presumably a “don’t do it again!”.

If you ever played football, you’d recognize that was NOT a “sucker PUNCH”.

Stiff arms are a part of the game between runners and defensive backs. That one WAS observably ‘too rough.’ But come on .. a punch? nah.

We had them all over in Utah ,Nevada, and Idaho when I was a kid. I have asked around and nobody seems to have seen them for a long time. Take good care of yours', we might have let ours all croak. Bush's fault.

I carried them around in my pockets when I was a little kid, gave them rides in toy trucks, took them to bed with me and made them little pools to swim in.

I didn't know they shot blood from their eyes until I saw it on TV. I guess my horney toads were happy. Good , that was my intention.

Wow, the vile hatred of Auburn on this thread... Sorta sickens me, but over the years I have got jaded to most of it.

Last week I took my son to his first AUBURN game... we had a good time, the people were sweet... and a good time was had by all.

Auburn is a pretty place, usually good folks come for a education and some are rich, some poor and just barely getting by. Just like any university I imagine. Good Vet school and engineer school, decent architecture and building science school. Nice Pharmacy school with lots of pretty young ladies getting degrees. Heck even vet school now puts out more ladies than men.

Don't know the source of everyone's hatred toward Auburn, but that is their right. I just know we love it.

Free —

You gotta lose the “sucker punch” meme.

It was an over the top stiff arm. Happens all the time in a man’s game.

It WAS over the top, and the REF told him so.

Your argument is more credible when you correctly call an action a “sucker punch”.

Fairly DID commit a cheap shot, (and drew a 15-yarder.) I’d call it that too. Newton did NOT throw a sucker punch.

What do you call the attempted chop block by #3 on Fairly? Justifiable cheap shot? Fair play? Be objective.

This is why a playoff is a bad idea.

???

That is why a playoff is a GREAT idea.

If a playoff is a bad idea, it should be eliminated for every other college sport. Let's replace the NCAA Basketball Tournament with a single round of bowl games (Arena Games?) and then pick a national champ. Same for the College World Series.

They play a powder puff schedule that is undeserving of matching with the Big Boys. How many players would Boise have lost this season had they played in a real conference?
Injuries are a part of football. Depth is not the forte of the blue turf smurfs.

Boise playing Alabama, LSU, Arkansas & Auburn(SEC West) back to back or Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, Northwestern(new Big Ten West) and see how they survive.

College football is a marathon, not a sprint.
