I just noticed this.

Why is the Facebook "Like" icon now appearing on every page I go to? Is FR now connected in some way to Facebook?

I don’t even share information with myself now.

LOL!! There was a thread on FR awhile back that told how to turn off sneaky FB settings. I used every tip in there and FB doesn't have my personal addy.

There was some new stuff that sneaked in. Don’t ask me as I can’t get to my facebook now that I don’t share info with myself. kidding

(Really - I can’t get to FB behind a corporate firewall, so I can’t find the post)

I think the new fix was disallowing all apps from accessing your personal information. There was an option to turn them all off. So I did.

There was a new app about maps and your location. That FR thread told where to go and how to stop it so I shut all that stuff down. I know people who have where they live listed but I do not.

I have just received a number of emails sent from a business Blackberry from someone in China/Hong Kong which contained this person’s FB picture on it.

This is unbelievable.

Don’t know about that one. I may or may not have caught it. Let me know later, when you can, what it is.

I use duckduckgo.com instead of google. It’s supposed to be more private.

Ixquick.com (aka Frontpage.com) is alledly private.

I believe they might route their searches elsewhere for the actual crunching, but allegedly anyway they strip identifying information from searches.

I just wonder how much $$$ Jim Rob is receiving in advertizing fees from Facebook?

And if he is OK with shilling for Facebook, will other forms of advertising be far behind?

It’s there because FR has a FB page.

I am tired of the prying going on, now, if you use Google, it fills out the fields as you type.

I don't Google, I Bing. Have not noticed anything like that other than a list of previous visit matches for what you are entering, which can be turned off.

Facebook: Another Privacy Scandal
“The Journal found that in 25 instances the third-party app companies were taking in users’ Facebook identification numbers. The number then tied into a user’s profile and could identify the person by name, no matter how secure his or her privacy settings were.”
