I did, and I disagree.

If FR wants to become an echo chamber, it will lose value, IMO.

I recall people here being excited when Scott Brown won, and he is publicly pro-infanticide. The Paulians were ridiculed in the last election, but not banned. George W. Bush was not a conservative, and people who supported him were not banned.

Look, I don’t support Romney. I just don’t think we should not be able to discuss him and ban people who might support him. Better to convince them that there are much better candidates, no?

I think the concentration of anti-Romney articles is a pre-emptive warning to any would be Romney supporters to simply stay away from FreeRepublic. I don’t know what went on here during the last primary that caused the mass banning of posters. I somehow missed the whole thing, but FreeRepublic hasn’t been the same.

Today, the biggest subject on the news is the failure of the Obama judiciary to win the prosecution of the terrorist and I only saw one post on the subject. I don’t care about Mitt Romney, one way or the other because I don’t think that he can win the nomination. The Republicans cannot afford to let the Democrats pick our candidate for us again.

We discussed him with his hoards of new sign ups for years, on threads that stretched into the thousands of posts.

Romney has support that goes beyond politics, and this site was swarmed by unreasoning, non-conservative, cult followers that chewed up time and energy with no intent to ever engage in an actual political discussion from a conservative perspective.

You were one of those that thought that Mitt Romney would make a good President, and that knocked the anti-Romney freepers, so you should have some memory of that time

The Paulians were ridiculed in the last election, but not banned.

They are kept around for entertainment value. They are fun to play with.

I feel the same about Mittbots myself, they can really be goofy and deluded and are like cat toys for Conservative kitties. But unlike Ron Paul Mitt actually has a shot at the title, so I can see why Jim would nip those idiots in the bud and toot sweet.
