The South Delhi Police on Tuesday claimed to have seized a zebra skin stolen from the house of a Mumbai-based businessman with the arrest of 31-year-old man. "The animal skin that was made into a trophy measuring 3 meters in length and two meters in width and is suspected to have been brought to India from abroad," said HGS Dhaliwal, deputy commissioner of Police (South).
The accused have been identified as Deepak Yadav. He was apprehended on a tip-off from Jor Bagh area, where he was coming to hand it over to another businessman. Yadav told police that he had stolen the skin from the house of a leading businessman, residing in Sheetal Bagh area of Mumbai, in 2004, when he was working there as a security guard.
it was suspected that it was brought into India from abroad.....as opposed to having been the skin of the very rare and endangered Indian Zebra...
Well, at least he’s got something appropriate to wear in jail.
at least the Zebra wasn’t wearing it at the time
