The phrase “have one’s cake and eat it to” comes to mind.
The cake turns into a monster, is (rightfully!) angry - and men sit around scratching their heads (or other things).

So many saw decades ago where this was going to go and warned everyone to burn the stack of girly magazines but -— they pounded their chests and decided it was a man's world and that they definitely would have their cake and eat it to — The stack of girly magazines came out of the closet, overflowed into the rest of public life - rest is history.

Men have a decision to make. Play by the rules that God gave us -— and maybe women will be nice and like the boys again.

You can't attempt to dehumanize any person, be it men or women, and not expect a strong and angry reaction.
