Eerie Image Captured in Woods - Deer Stand Camera Snaps Bizarre Animal

BERWICK, Louisiana (WVLA) - A deer hunter captures a spooky image wandering through the Louisiana woods at night.

A hunter near Baton Rouge says he found this freaky photo on his deer stand camera.

The hunting camera was broken but the memory card was still there and so was this bizarre image.

It looks like a cross between a human and an animal, with long slender appendages and glowing eyes.

The hunter says he just hopes it's a vegetarian, if he runs into it in the woods again.

That actually makes sense. I know light can play tricks. You can have a thousand photographs that are easily explainable, and then one where an animal turns at just the right angle to make it look odd and, presto, an internet meme.

Same thing happened to a con trail a few weeks ago.

My guess is teenagers pranking the hunter dad. The picture is consistent with other night pictures taken by that camera manufacturer (Wildgame Innovations).

Redwood trees? Suddenly falling or breaking?

You should read The Wild Trees by Richard Preston.

Fascinating book about Redwoods, trying to find the tallest, climbing and camping in them, and how they fall and break without warning.

Most amazing chapter to me discussed how, because the Redwood splits into multiple trunks over 200' above the ground, it creates giant concave areas of wood that are entire environments with soil, year-round ponds, and animal life like salamanders above 200'.

They aren't aboreal creatures, but terrestrial creatures that shouldn't have simply appeared 200' above ground. Some species live only in the the Redwood canopy.
