I just saw this movie with my teenage son and found it very pertinant to stresses faced by teenagers today. The story line and acting is very well done and I highly recommend it for families with teens and preteens.

LOL! Me and my daughters recognized him right away! And wasn't he great as the class clown/popular guy? Our church youth group went and saw this when it first came out.

To Save a Life

Domestic Total Gross: $3,777,210
Distributor: Samuel Goldwyn Release Date: January 22, 2010
Genre: Drama Runtime: 2 hrs. 0 min.
MPAA Rating: PG-13

I never heard of it and did not realize it went to the theaters. I went to Box Office Mojo and saw this information. Perhaps they need to re release it letting people know that this movie would be good to see. Apparently nobody knew a thing about this film. That is the problem with wholesome films. Nobody markets them now. The last one that was marketed on Free Republic was American Carol and that movie was the worst I have ever seen so I am suspect of recommendations. But it would be nice to at least be able to have a chance to see it.

Well, I should clarify...none that you witness. Part of the story line is teen pregnancy though.

I got to thinking about my answer to you about 'sex scenes' and realized that I may have a different idea about what constitutes a sex scene. With that in mind, I copied down what Internet Movie Data Base said.....

"Teen couple Jake and Amy are seen kissing and they walk up stairs and you can see them walk over to the bed and jake takes off his shirt. They are still kissing and they lay down on the bed. But that is all.

Jake is seen lying in the bed, presumibly not wearing clothes (but is coverd by sheets), it is implyed that they had sex. Though Amy is fully clothed and standing by the door about to leave.

Teen's are seen kissing through out film, nothing excesive though."

So with that in mind, my "None" answer might be a bit misleading. My thought on it is teenagers already know about sex (although not necessarily as much as they think), they know it happens, they talk about it, and it is an very real part of their lives. This movie deals with the reality of that and the consequences of that. If nothing else, it provides a good medium to talk to your teen about sex and relationships.
