its like the movie was meant to be viewed ONLY after the book is read.

I absolutely agree with that.  You get a lot more out of the movie if you know what is actually happening. Especially the ending scenes with the old man and star child.

That what happen to Metropolis Fritz Lang sci fi classic they did restoration year later they found 25 more minute of lost footage that fully explain whole storyline MORE

I just watched the fully restored version on netflicks a week or so ago. Interesting. Hard to believe it was made so long ago.

...buying a bush baby...

Interesting. Bush babies are primates, but they are also food for
another primate that uses a tool - aka a broken branch - to
probe for and kill them while nesting in tree holes.

I doubt that was known at the time of the book/film, so it's
probably just a coincidence.

“you may get something...but it is not IT. read the book.”

Oh I have, I love Clarke’s books.

You’d be a Jaques Barzun fan. “The House of Intellect”

Great book, but dense.

Amazing how some experiences act as filtering tools for the people we bring into our lives. Good and bad experiences.

Interesting choice for a first date. She can’t accuse you of trying to get into her knickers on the first date, can she?

Says something about her too. I know a lot of women that would have forced that particular issue out of sheer boredom. “I’m lost, I’m bored, Let’s do it.”

Great story.
