Larry King signs off.. My appearance on his show..

They don't make them like Larry King anymore.

The Veteran CNN talk show host signed off for the last time tonight. He was on the air for 25 years.

He was such a pro, that he made it look so easy.

I remember back in June of 2003 when I was asked to be on his show.

I was covering a horrible murder case in Dallas at the time.

Despite the topic, it was an honor and privilege to have appeared - albeit briefly on his show.

(They asked me back the following night to do the show again, but I had to tell the producer I was too busy! My wife thought I was crazy to pass on going on Larry King two night in a row! )

(I was somewhat embarrassed that the first thing I had to say - was to correct him on something.. he just said..)

Eh. I still think of him as the ‘new guy’ who took over the time-slot of “Freeman Reports” on CNN.

I wonder, does his kid still wish he was black. That’s what larry said after Obama was installed.

Larry is one-of-a-kind, that’s for sure.
Personally, I never had any problem with the man. He did his thing night after night.
Good for him. I hope he enjoys a well-deserved retirement.

Will not be missed. Could not ask a serious question to save his life. Was being paid ~$10M when CNN could really have used the money to augment their notably weak staff of journalists. I found him annoying and offensive, stopped watching him at least 18 years ago.

Woonsocket, Rhode Island, hello...

I got in late, but from what I saw, Anderson Cooper said some nice things, his kids were funny, Tony Bennett still has it...but I missed Regis!

I remember when he was supposed to be the “King” of talk radio, then Rush came along and we discovered that instead of measuring audiences by the thousands, that a quality radio host could reach millions instead.

A couple of years into Rush, when Rush was making history, King was still pretending that he had never heard of him.

Larry King was a left wing loser.

Yes, when does CNN sign off? He hated conservatives and loved the liberals/marxists who he basically canonized.
If he had a political panel there was 2 Dem Operatives Carville, Begala, then a RINO David Brooks/Parker/, and then a token conservative who usually got do you defend the action by some lone congressman who did something outrageous recently.

Larry King should have retired long ago, but Piers Morgan is another joke they’ve hired on. They should have went unconventional like Gene Simmons, Conan O’Brien, or Ryan Seacrest.

About 10 years too long. Political hack.

Has Larry King actually signed off for the last time? This would be the first I’ve heard of it.

There was a time, up until the mid-90’s or so that I once told a buddy of mine that Larry King was the most powerful and talented interviewer in the world. At that time, I think he was.

It was a shame that he became partisan after 9/11. Oh, well.

Ha! You read my mind! FReepers are a very nice group of people, but I would hope they reserve what niceness they have to fellow FReepers, instead of King.

BTW, he’s not much bigger than I am.....which is saying that he is one tiny man!
