Workers at the Metrodome have intentionally ruptured another panel in the building's damaged roof.
Pat Milan, a spokesman for the commission that runs the Dome, says a shotgun slug was fired into the panel because the weight of ice was creating a safety issue. It's the fifth panel that has torn or been torn since a winter storm caused the roof to give way eight days ago.

RT Rybak will bemoan the ‘easy access to guns’ and there will be another candlelight vigil for the panel in Powderhorn Park.
Yes, I was going to mention all that. I found how how TNT works when I was a kid.
I worked for a civil engineering company doing surveying. One day it was raining to hard to get out in the field and the owner asked me to drive a bunch boxes of TNT up to the Dupoint plant in Birmingham Al.
This was back in the mid 70’s. I had his wife’s volvo station wagon loaded up with half a dozen cases of it.
When I got to the Dupont plant the guys grabbed the cases out of the car and slung them onto the bed of a pickup truck.
I think they did it just for the effect and then explained TNT in good shape was very safe. Don’t ask me how they knew they were good shape cuz they didn’t open it up to inspect. Cases were clean though. No wet spots.
Boy, those were days when you could do whatever you wanted pretty much. I would probably need a police escort today to do it lol.
