LOS ANGELES (AP) — It was a scary moment for Paris Hilton: A knife on a Hawaii-bound jetliner delayed her flight out of Los Angeles.

Hilton posted two tweets Tuesday about how she and 203 other passengers aboard a Delta Air Lines Boeing 757 were ordered off before takeoff at Los Angeles International Airport. Flight 1197, which also had a crew of eight, was heading for Maui.

I wondered that too. Such a potentially confusing title.

What a nation of sissies we have become, afraid of a little knife. I always used to carry my Swiss Army Knife on-board, to fight off the Muslim terrorists if need be. Now, everyone’s quivering and cowering, and I won’t fly anymore in this “brave new world.”

When I was a kid I used to go to summer camp up in Maine. It was considered "cool" for the campers to own their own axes for chopping firewood. I used to carry mine onto the plane with me without any problem.

I guess that wouldn't work too well these days.

That’s a long flight. What do you suppose she thinks about?

My guess is:

Couldn’t they just pack the knife away in a safe spot and fly the plane to its destination?

did you know her nickname is “Wonky McValtrex”?
the Wonky part is one of eyes/eyelids that either droop or slightly wander, the rest i’m sure you can figure out on your own.

A little before 9/11, I was going through security, removed my Buck Ultralight lock blade serrated 3” blade knife from my pocket and placed it in the hand of the gate security guy, walked through X-ray and retrieved my Buck Ultralight lock blade serrated 3” blade knife from the hand of the same security guy. A few years later, a TSA guy confiscated a 2mm Allen wrench from my bag.

I typically either mail a pocketknife to my destination or purchase a cheap one upon arrival.

Yes, the headline sounds like she was particularly threatened or under greater danger than others. Does not seem to be the case.

Was Hilton the only one on the airplane?

I recently few from Houston to Las Vegas and back with a 4” pocket knife in my purse. It wasn't intentional, I just forgot it was there and the screeners didn't see it. No telling what they would have done to me if they had found it.

Yep. My wife usually forgets to leave her nail clippers at home. It's usually around 50/50 odds as to whether it will be found/taken away by TSA.

Apparantly the only one newsworthy enough for the MSM to report on.

Yeah, like a knife can destroy an entire aircraft.

I’m baffled as to why she would lower herself to take a commercial flight in the first place. Are things with the economy really that bad out there?

=====================================

According to a report, Paris was slumming, she wanted to see how the other half lived.

It was a ruse so that authorities could disinfect her seat.

It also sounded like it could have involved an enema.
