Splash, Vicki and Edward M. Kennedy's beloved Portuguese water dog and a constant presence at the senator's side, bounding and romping as he rumbled through the halls of power, has died.

The death of the 13-½-year-old curly-haired canine is eliciting fond tributes, fit for the passing of such a famous fixture of official Washington. Ted Kennedy named his dog “Splash”? Was that for the last sound Mary Jo heard before departing this terrestrial orb?

It’s unbelievable there are still people on the Kennedy payroll cranking out this treacly drivel.

RIP Splash. Sounds like you deserved a far better master than the one you had.

That was my reaction, too! I just turned around and screamed this at my family incredulously and then came back here and saw your post. Too funny!

Naming the dog, “Splash” was the swimmer’s way of thumbing his nose at all of us to say, “I got away with murder, and I can't let you forget it”. As is we could? Let's hope this news story is the last we hear about that rotten family.
Ted Kennedy is now in a place where there is no water and all have a thirst so great that they pray to the DEVIL for just one swig.
