Anyone else spending Christmas Eve alone?
Christmas Eve 2010 | Skooz

Posted on 12/24/2010 5:31:05 PM PST by Skooz

Just wondering if anyone else out there is spending the evening alone. Not necessarily a bad thing. I'm sipping a cappuccino and taking in "A Christmas Story" in the old man cave. I'll be with family tomorrow, but as of tonight, it's my faithful Boxer and me. And Ralphie.

Merry Christmas, pardner.

Tomorrow is the Baltimore Consort and Handel's "Messiah" in Hogwood's 1981 period instrument recording.

Christmas isn't totally boring around here.

Thank you! Displaces more than most of the cars in the parking garage where I work- nothing but torque. It was *almost* warm enough to go for a short ride today. Maybe tomorrow...

Hubby is snoozing in the rocking chair, The Nutcracker is playing on ‘Sounds of the Seasons’, and I am with dozens of friends — all here on line.

Did JimRob know he was going to do this for us? Bless him.

This business of “Holiday”/”Christmas” has awakened sleeping believers. The internet is a big part of this. We are all in this together — as we are never alone.

I'm kinda worrying if I'm creating more birds than the neighborhood can sustain if for whatever reason I stopped feeding them. Cardinals actually hand, or rather, beak-feed their babies seeds on the ground. Adorable to watch.

I’m watching Emergency! next hour too. I’ll be doing 10 miles on the stationary bike while watching and working off the Christmas cookies.

If there is a tear on my face
It makes me shiver to the bone
It shakes me, babe
It’s just a heartache that got in my eye
And you know I never cry, I never cry
Sometimes I drink more than I need
Until the TV’s dead and gone
I may be lonely
But I’m never alone
And the night may pass me by
But I’ll never cry

[Alice Cooper]

I got my dogs surrounding me and hubby’s out working in the shop.

“I’M HERE WITH YOU GUYS REDOVERING FROM aMILD STROKEFROM LAST FRIDAY”

I just got home from the ER. I was working this afternoon on the computer, got up and my left leg gave out under me. It was like it was asleep. I hobbled down the hall and then noticed that my left arm was weak.

I went to the ER and they think my heart may have caused a “transient ischemic” mini-stroke. I’m only 40!

They let me go home with a Holter monitor on my chest.

I’m sitting here reading FR, but I’m just wondering if I should. Reading all the stuff about the lame duck session... the monitor is gonna freak the docs out! :)

If any of you are pray-ers... could use some tonight. Thanks!

There are times that I envy my married contemporaries but having passed 60 I know that has passed me by as well. Probably a blessing as a confirmed bachelor would be a beast to bear for a good woman.

Some reading with good Christmas Carols and a couple glasses of reasonable port with Stilton. I love Loreena McKennit’s “A Midwinter Night’s Dream”.

I will be privileged to spend tomorrow with my 93 yo Dad (WW2/Korea & Vietnam) and my Brother (USMA 72) and his wife.

God Bless EVERYONE and goodnight to all!

Thanks for the reply. I feel for you. Families are meant to be forever, but sometimes it doesn’t work that way. Merry Christmas.
