The founder of the The Weather Channel in the US has described the concept of global warming as 'the greatest scam in history' and accused global media of colluding with 'environmental extremists' to alarm the public.

It wasn't what I saw in his post, it's what he saw in my post at #7. He was asking me how I managed to reply to another poster, but addressed it to myself. I have no idea how that happened.

The poster (markos33) simply deleted the "post to" info from the address box and typed in a new To: at the top of his post. It only looks like it's addressed to me, but it's not in my pings.

Oh, I know the one you're talking about. That got my attention, too. I had to go back to it three or four times to figure out how he did it. Pretty darn cool, if you ask me.

Yep...there's one person I know of who can do that, and that's BufordP.

He did that to me once and sent me crying to SA& to find out what was going on.

I've tried that before and get an error message saying "no poster by that name." 'all' is the only thing I've ever put in a 'to' line that stays and isn't an actual FReep handle. Oh, well.

Poster BufordP made that post. #56 1/2 and #57 are the same post. He's done it on at least one other thread that I've seen. Very slick stuff.

I’ve seen those 1/2 posts before too. I tried viewing the HTML using ‘view selection source’ and still haven’t figured out how it’s done. Funny stuff!

You can wipe out all of the info in the To: box and your post will still appear. You put the fake address in the Reply box.

Bold the poster's name, then add a horizontal line underneath. Add a space under that, then type in a response and it will look to the eye like any other post, except it won't be addressed to anyone, in fact.
