A University position is an amazingly lucrative job opportunity unlike for example Banking or Lawyering[sic] and other similar poor professions... A career in science is after all the easiest way to make money, and grad students get paid millions for toiling through 6 years of grad school before they even start their professional lives....

Where did I say antibiotics cures polio? Nor did I say that antibiotics work 100% of the time.

However, since your so interested in polio, lets make some comparisons,

1952 being the worst recorded epidemic of polio, 3,145 people in the United States died from polio. That same year over 20,000 died of tuberculosis.

In fact, according to the CDC in early part of the 1900's, the three leading causes of death were pneumonia, tuberculosis (TB), and diarrhea/enteritis.

I wonder what would have helped cure those three killers? Any guesses?

Could you please quantify that? Consider a herd of 10,000. If 97% are immunized, how many can be expected to contract the disease? Now do the same for only 95% being immunized. Assume population density of 250 per square mile.

I said the MAIN reason for the high mortality rate was the lack of antibiotics, and because the three leading causes of deaths would have been mostly prevented by using antibiotics... I stand by my statement.

I have a close friend and cervical cancer runs in her family. A few years back, her doctor convinced her to get the vaccine for her daughter (a young teen). About three months ago, my friend called me very upset. The same doctor confided to her that they are finding a link between this vaccine and possible sterility. I looked online but it is in medical journals that I don’t have access to. I think that vaccines need to be cautiously looked at with respect to who is making them, what is in them, how they are stored, what research (long term) has been done etc... Each night when I watch a bit of television, a commercial pops up for a law firm that will sue for injury/death/for recent FDA approved medications. IMHO

They don't want to do any long term research, and they try to discredit anyone that does. There is a reason why they passed laws that exempt vaccine makers from lawsuits.

Here's one of many articles about the contamination of a cancer causing monkey virus that was found in polio vaccine. They admit that the virus was in the vaccine, but they still deny that it has caused any problems. This just proves to me that you cannot believe anything they say about the safety of vaccines.
