Four Stickney teenagers gang-raped a 14-year-old girl and recorded the attacks on a cell phone, police said this morning.

Alex Picallo, 16, Majeed Khalifeh, 18, and Jonathan Leanos, 19, were charged Wednesday with two counts each of aggravated criminal sexual assault in the incident at Leanos’ Stickney home in the 3900 block of Wesley on Saturday, police said. Picallo was charged as an adult.

A fourth suspect, Vicente Hernandez, 22, of Cicero, was similarly charged today and is scheduled to appear at a bond hearing in the Bridgeview courthouse later today.

Picallo was ordered held on $500,000 bail Tuesday. Khalifeh and Leanos appeared in court in Bridgeview on Wednesday and were ordered held in lieu of $600,000 and $750,000 bail, respectively.

Leanos met the victim, who does not live in Stickney, online on the MySpace site last summer, and they met several times before Leanos took the victim to his house Saturday, police said.

When she refused his request for sex, Leanos took her cell phone and forced her to have sex, police said. He then drove her to pick up Khalifeh and Hernandez, and they all returned to Leanos' house, where they were met by Picallo, police continued. Leanos told the girl to have sex with his friends, and cell phones were used to record the assault.

We are bombarded with images of what males are capable of when there is little consequence to their actions.

Haiti, Somalia, the Congo, Detroit.

Every day it seems that evil grows stronger as my heart dies a little. The weight of it is too much. All of it.

This story and the elderly lady body slammed in NY were both on Drudge today. It never ends. It never retreats.

I am beginning to wonder if it’s humanity itself that disgusts me. One day a real rain is going to come.

“Well apparently they allow their 14 yr old daughter unfettered access to the internet which allows her to converse with and meet 19 year old men.”

Almost all kids do /can do that either online, school, church, mall or via cell.

I don't remember any of my female friends being allowed to walk around the mall alone at 14 yrs old. Church and school? Apples and oranges. You're around friends who know you at all these places.

Online you are isolated and more apt to make bad choices. Would you let a female friend go off alone with a 19 year old man she had just met at the mall?

Judging from the names, it looks like our social architects have achieved multicultural diversity. Only, they didn’t realize what their utopia was really going to be.

For the love of God I don’t ever recal anything this bad, or in this manner.

That is because it wasn't reported. Often, since it was children as some of the perpetrators - the cops wouldn't even investigate thoroughly. So the problem grew. There was little consequence. With the introduction of the Internet, and the ability of anyone determined enough to become their own reporter - the ability of society to suppress uncomfortable realities has been severed.

Lame defense of the parents. There are any number of methods for parents to take to protect their kids. To begin with, at home restrict computer access or monitor computer activity. No computers with internet in the kid’s rooms, software installations and simply talking with them about the dangers of online predators for starters. In terms of cell phones, simply provide your child with a dull phone without internet access or a camera and is limited to calling / texting 9-11 and family numbers. Be proactive with the school / church to ensure that social media sites are not available if the internet is on the premises. Talk with your child’s friend’s parents to see if they are as watchful. If they are, great. If not, they’re not allowed over there unsupervised.

See how easy that was?

We assume that 14 year-old don’t know better which is why you aren’t allowed to have sex with them.
